Calling defensive timeouts between 2:00 and 2:39 only makes sense if you are going to get the ball back before the warning. Otherwise coaches should have been awake in math class.

The Chiefs should have ten more seconds. Reid called his last timeout on first down with 2:30, saving 30 seconds instead of the full 40 if he’d waited until after the 2-minute warning

The refs in the Chiefs game made the correct call, got together and decided to call it incorrectly with grounding, then because of that couldn’t do a video review to see they’d called it incorrectly. That is impressive incompetence.
