His work after the myth of Sisyphus, like the Plague and the Rebel, dealt much more specifically with how to live a good moral life. I think it's important to remember he died before he finished much of his planned work.

Why Absurdism Isn’t Enough to Live a Meaningful Life

Really interesting. I think it's mostly true that Absurdism lacks a moral structure, but Camus himself was a deeply moral person. He was a member of the French resistance to the Nazis and a dedicated opponent of the death penalty, for example.

The ancient Greeks were on to something, the gods are multitude, capricious and cruel.

This looks rad. I just finished the 1997 tv miniseries version and it was a ton of fun.

That's nothing, I heard he said the 1997 tv miniseries version was better than the poem.

It'll be tough to top the version from the 1997 tv miniseries.

Anyone else so hyped for Christopher Nolan's Odyssey that you've watched the 1997 tv version that's on YouTube.

It was for the love of life that Sisyphus schemed to defy both the cruel gods and death itself.

You have more information than them. And we know poll responses are often nonsensical and ignore tradeoffs (cut taxes, keep services, no debt).

Elected politicians should strive to lead and represent their constituents by doing what is right. Often chasing polls is the antithesis of that.

It must be so humiliating to be Ted Cruz, a man disrespects you personally and everything you stand for and you spend the next decade submitting to his every whim.

This is a critical point. For 20+ years most "investment" in this country has gone to speculating on real estate and driving up the price of homes, rather than doing anything productive.

Construction productivity is lower now than it was decades ago. We have gotten worse at building. We need to solve this problem to end the housing crisis.

At key moments in American history, the nation has been propelled forward by good people demanding justice.

It feels like we may be at one of those moments again.
