A begonia with blue, pink, and silver leaves. Not real.
A bleeding heart flower tinted black. Does not appear in nature at all. Fake flower.
Today's Gardening Advice: The holidays are coming up and it may be tempting for some to purchase unique seeds/plants for loved ones. Remember, there's a bunch of fraudulent plants out there on the internet. Don't fall prey to scams. The rose below was once on Amazon.๐ฑ

Well, this is horrible.
Book cover for the novel Sabriel, by Garth Nix. The main character is on the cover. In one hand she holds a sword, in the other a tiny bell. A shadowy monster with burning eyes stands behind her. It reaches a hand toward her.

06.11.2025 19:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A local doctor also joins the party. There's also a detective, who knows more than he reveals, but appears tied by police processes (no, nothing supernatural here, it's all just normal madness/drowning/suicide/whatever). Excellent novel, now on to the second.
06.11.2025 19:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Additionally, the main character is Lizzie Borden, although her axe is used to defeat those changed by the call coming from the ocean. Her parents turned into monsters, her neighbors in Fall River, Massachusetts follow. Lizzie tries to study what's happening, along with her sister Emma.

Again, an author borrows from Lovecraft's legacy of cosmic horror and creates a work that's especially effective. It has gothic horror, fish men, an unknowable sea god, madness, chaos, and more. #booksky ๐๐

06.11.2025 15:54 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Interesting headstones I found in the Rockingham Meeting House graveyard. A group near each other with three stones stating, "Wife of." Each was for the wife of the same man, from different years. Then another with a child aged 8 months. He lost 3 wives over the years and at least 1 child.
