ICE ordered to stop knock-and-talk tactic for immigration arrests in LA In a decision this week, a federal judge said the tactic violated the Fourth Amendment. Rather than blocking the practice altogether, he barred ICE's LA office from using it.

"According to a plaintiff expert witness cited in Wright’s ruling, knock-and-talks accounted for at least 27% of residential arrests for the period during which data was available, including at least 8% of all arrests in 2022."

Stop caving to the GOP. Tell Schumer to stop caving.

Start protecting your constituents from Trump's cruelty and the GOP enabling of it.

If you were legally able to vote on California's Prop 50 and didn't, why didn't you?

The US needs voter participation now more than ever.

Google, Microsoft, and Meta Have Stopped Publishing Workforce Diversity Data Other big tech companies including Amazon, Apple, and Nvidia have continued their annual disclosures this year even as the Trump administration cracks down on DEI.

Must look pretty bad for the numbers to drop enough that they aren't publishing them. What I saw of the 2023 layoff was overrepresented by women, older employees, and minority groups. And if those make up a smaller fraction of the workforce to begin with, yeah your total numbers are going to crater.

Trump wants to make people angry and desperate enough such that he gets to declare martial law. He doesn't understand the danger of creating more people who feel they have nothing to lose. I'm sure the J6ers he pardoned think they can get away with anything and what happens when they get desperate?

Racism is absolutely an amusing punchline to people making racist jokes. *And* the people who make those jokes are racist.

I had to grow up with racists existing on both sides of my family (yes, even as a BIPOC). This is lived experience.

They always go after minority groups first for layoffs. This is also how it appeared in the Google layoffs (a "strange" larger percentage of minority groups, parents, and people on medical leave). This is the result of unconscious (and conscious) bias.
