AI is definitely more obvious than this. I could see an artist (or multiple) collaborating on making a ton of panels for a 5 second spot on screen and being under a time crunch. Inconsistencies would be likely. Itโ€™s only over analyzed to this degree because we can stop and go frame by frame ๐Ÿ™„

The idea that a few frames of art that are on screen for less than a few seconds that were likely rushed in post-production is far more plausible given how many panels had to be drawn.

First off, you didnโ€™t frame it that way in your post so people took your statement as truth and ran with it. But now, youโ€™ve graduated to presumptuous. Plenty of artists suck at drawing hands. Sure, it *could* be AI but it is not definitively AI.

I miss the days when Star Trek โ€œfansโ€ didnโ€™t bend over backwards to find reasons to hate on Star Trek

The assumptive nature of this post followed by the knee-jerk reactionary takes Iโ€™ve seen follow it are the epitome of everything wrong with #StarTrek BlueSky discourse.

Yes, AI sucks. Yes, the art isnโ€™t great. But none of you work on the show. This is quickly approaching slander territory. Chill.

โ€œCome, Letโ€™s Awayโ€ but stay for the absolutely crackling scenes between two of #StarTrekโ€™s most talented performers - Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti. The pilotโ€™s โ€œorigami chickenโ€ scene is a C+ compared to the A++ of dialogue and performances in this episode. MORE PLEASE. #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy

Not a bad analogy at all. Have you ever seen Saw II? It made me think of when Amanda had to try and find a key in a pit of needles. Certainly not easy and definitely painful lol

I read a little bit of Jetrel the other day while watching the teaser and itโ€™s just amazing to see how the scene description comes alive beyond the dialogue. Very surreal experience.

Minor line delivery differences are fascinating too.

I recently picked up a copy of Death Wishโ€™s script and Iโ€™m really excited to read along next time I watch.

#StarfleetAcademy โ€œSeries Acclimation Milโ€ is a phenomenal character study and a love letter to DS9 that is best experienced unspoiled. Itโ€™s not lost on me that this character was created BECAUSE OF Kerrice Brooks and this only exists because of her uniqueness and Tawny Newsomeโ€™s love for DS9. Wow ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป

This is terrible news. Oโ€™Hara felt like someone who still had so much brilliance left to give us. This one is really not fair.

Totally agree! The sustained cold temps arenโ€™t helping. In downtown Frederick, theyโ€™ve resorted to closing down blocks at a time overnight to remove plowed snow completely because itโ€™s such a hindrance.

I also forgot how dang bright it is with the high reflectivity of snow/ice.

Itโ€™s officialโ€ฆthere are some areas of packed snow where the ice is now thick enough to support my entire weight without breaking. This is very unusual for Maryland.

I had a feeling youโ€™d enjoy this one a lot. Definitely hits multiple of your quadrants. I like that it kinda wipes the slate clean a bit for Klingons as we know them while respecting what makes them Klingon. The โ€œbrothersโ€ aspect running parallel between Caleb and Thar was excellent too.

"Vox In Excelso" is #StarfleetAcademy's first thoroughly EXCELLENT episode. I loved this depiction of the Klingons, and the new layers of world building confidently added to the mix. Equally balanced big picture broad strokes with intimate and impactful character moments. Top of the line #StarTrek.

It was really cool that the audiobook had two narrators and that one exclusively was there to read footnotes. Really clarified so many things and made the listening experience unique.

Definitely going to read more R.F. Kuang this year.

It was Natalieโ€™s favorite too! She was so excited I finally read it. It really is so dang good. Robin certainly has an epic arc and the language is so meta and I love how the translations drive home so many big ideas. Iโ€™ll be thinking about it for a while.

There is a line in an upcoming episode of #StarfleetAcademy that hits particularly close to the chest at the moment:

'There has been a tragedy. Don't compound it with ignorance.'

Star Trek, on the ball as usual

Please do! Iโ€™d love to read your thoughts on it.

By the way, I finished reading Babel last week. Absolutely phenomenal. Still thinking about it. I feel like I need a reread already.

Yes!!! And both seem to support a connected message rather than running parallel the whole time. It just feels right tonally and leaves me feeling good each time.

I also continue to be impressed with how the instructorsโ€™ own backstories and experiences serve as a mirror for the cadets. Itโ€™s great that they have instructors they can relate to. #StarfleetAcademy

I enjoyed #StarfleetAcademy โ€œVox in Excelsoโ€ for exploring the duality of Jay-Denโ€™s upbringing while giving us a long-overdue update on 32nd Century Klingons. I love that this show empowers the characters to stand up for what makes them unique, respect differences, and find common ground.

After hearing that it would be a treat for DS9 fans, I was hoping to hear that Tawny Newsome had a hand in writing it. I trust on that alone that it will be great.

I am begging makers of childrenโ€™s products that require a plug to use vertical AC adapters instead of horizontal. The childproof outlet covers (with closing panel doors) canโ€™t accommodate horizontal plugs and I shouldnโ€™t have to pay extra to use your product.

Looking at you, Hatch sleep assistant.

Oh yes both are good actors and have done several great roles since then. Stewart has also started directing so Iโ€™m interested to see how those movies are.
