Been getting a lot of people asking about LA geography concerned that the images they see means the entire county is on fire. That's understandable.

But LA is a big place. So, to give an idea of scale it's time to cart this out again. It's a map of LA with other cities superimposed on it.

REVIEW: Such a quick ending for everything. Feels like everything got the short straw as they had to wrap up all the plot from the previous episode and the Voord were left with no time. Fairly disappointing ending.

“I don’t believe that man was made to be controlled by machines. Machines can make laws but they cannot preserve justice - only human beings can do that.” - CONFIRMED: THE DOCTOR WAS ANTI-AI!

I was fairly disappointed by the Voord - they had such an interesting design I was hoping they would have more to them, but sadly they were somewhat average and sidelined for the majority of the episodes

The companions and the Doctor scaring the crap out of each other was peak Doctor Who haha

The moment the Voord spoke in regular English they became way less creepy and sinister

RECAP: Susan kidnapped! …but quickly recovered. Ian on death row! …but quickly saved when they locate the killer. Back to Marinus, the Voord are in control! Until they're given a fake key and the machine explodes, killing the Voord, allowing them to escape.

It’s great to see Ian take a backseat for the Doctor to surge forward. Hartnell shines and - apart from a pathetic villain, who gives himself away almost immediately upon questioning from B + Susan - the episode is a fun example of a ‘prove the newcomer is innocent’ episode

RECAP: Ian is framed for murder on a planet where the onus is guilty unless proved innocent. The Doctor and companions must search for the truth and find proof of his innocence.

Why on EARTH is this guy giving the Doctor such hard bedroom eyes!? …I’m not mad, I’m just…wondering...

Keys of Marinus Ep 5:
HAHA - I love that when the killer tries to escape, Barbara’s the first on him! “DON’T YOU F’CKIN DARE”

Well that was an incredibly fun episode - wolves, ice cave, knights and a gross creep getting comeuppance. What more could you ask for from Doctor who???

I cackled with laughter at the knight that practically just hopped down the chasm as the bridge fell

"they just seem so lifelike"
Moments later...
Ian: "Four dead warriors..."

...so not really lifelike, huh...?

*gets halfway across bridge*
Friend: DON'T LOOK DOWN!
Susan: NOT A USEFUL EXCLAMATION RIGHT NOW

As laughable as it is, it's so satisfying watching Barbara cause harm to the creep

Keys of Marinus Ep 4: how quickly the new coming character shifted from "kind saviour" to "lecherous creep" the moment he was left alone with Barbara 🤮

For a doctor-lite episode that was alright, but fairly standard and I do wish Barbara got more opportunities than just screaming...

I'll admit, Barbara having a net thrown over her was amusing, but it got pretty tense until the terrifying shrinking roof just...stopped.

Oh and the old man being a certifiable badass and leaving Barbara on her own, then feebly being caught by a vine haha

Ok, they kinda make up for it by having Ian almost get axed immediately upon entering, if not for Barbara saving him

I don't love that directly after Barbara mentions not liking Ian bossing the women around, she's immediately caught and becomes a damsel in distress

Who designed these artworks? I'd like a word about the terrifying, drill-into-your-soul eyes

Keys of Marinus Ep 3: the art department are good at creating dense, claustrophobic forests, aren't they?

A bit of a quick resolution, but a wild and wacky episode that doctor who is known for

In some ways this ep feels like Daleks lite, in others, a step further, but it's certainly intense

SLUG ALIENS!? what is HAPPENING with this episode???

LOOK AT THE LEGS. Apparently the future is saucy and 1963's BBC was way more open than I expected!
