Aw man. RIP Patrick "PatmanQC" Davis. A legend when it comes to covering classic arcade games, and his voice is going to be sadly missed.

Two new teletext Knightmare adventures have been recovered from VHS tapes by @neilsmiles.bsky.social! It appears to be the first Eagle Quest in the series, and Swamp Quest. I have cleaned them up and made them available for intrepid adventurers to try... andrewnile.co.uk/tt/ @mrbiffo.bsky.social

I swear the BBC's turning into a paywall site, like lots of the newspapers have done. Thankfully reader view works, but I don't want an account. Not now. Not ever.

I had a look and there are some responses to a letter written by Lister on 1994/09/16, but sadly I don't think we've found the original letter yet. But it must be close to there.

AI: Hey there, it's great to meet you. I'm Microsoft Copilot, your AI companion. (...)
Me: What was wrong with James Bond's lighter in Licence to Kill? Why was the flame so big?
AI: In the movie "Licence to Kill," James Bond uses a lighter that has been modified to produce a much larger flame than a typical lighter. This lighter is actually a gadget provided by Q, Bond's quartermaster (...) The oversized flame is meant to be a dramatic and visually striking feature, showcasing Q's ingenuity (...).
Me: I thought Felix gave him the lighter?
AI: You're absolutely right! The lighter was indeed a gift from Felix Leiter. The lighter, which is a rather special one, was presented to Bond by Felix and his new bride, Della, as a wedding gift.
The lighter isn't just an ordinary one; it's a functional and sentimental keepsake. The dramatic flame we see in the film is part of its design, adding to its uniqueness and utility for Bond's daring missions. So while Q is often the mastermind behind Bond's gadgets, this particular lighter has a personal touch from his friend Felix.

I don't think AI (LLMs) will take over anything yet, judging by this response. Worst of all, I still don't know what was wrong with Felix's lighter! Judging by his shock when Bond lights it, it definitely wasn't a "personal touch"...
