Ditko and Wood were a solid team. Both guys were past their heyday but could still do crackling work. I generally preferred Ditko inking himself in the 70's, but Wood was probably a better fit on Stalker since it was sword and sorcery and not guys wearing hats down by the docks.

I posit that lining up the tan line with the horizon doesn't work because the art is somewhat naturalistic. In the surrealistic realm of primitive conceptual illustation that I tread in I can tell you... that intentionally lining these things up is something I would probably do.

Creepy stuff made even creepier because it was made by a team at a corporation and published in a mainstream comic available everywhere.

Got that one as a kid and loved it. I first found Plastic Man in Feiffer's Great Comic Book Heroes book. Even some of the later Quality issues after Cole left the series are pretty good.

Plastic Man & Capt. Marvel/Shazam fit in the DC universe about as well as Bugs Bunny & Woody Woodpecker.

The crystalline grid effect by Sal B. is a perfect add on. These days it most likely be done with some kind of computer effect instead of ink lines.
