I’ve been in the indie space (both books and later, games) for about 18 years now. This post is inspiring because frankly being an indie is hard and sometimes unrewarding. It doesn’t mean we’re all going to quit our day jobs, but it is OKAY to take inspiration where you can so you can Keep. Going.

100% agree. I personally take the original post as great inspiration, while also recognizing that not every indie game will reach the point of Hollow Knight. And that’s okay. The point of creating is to create ✨

Don’t give up! Lots of artists would love to work on a project, even if it’s on the side if they really believe in it.

Totally, that’s pretty much how I started 😂 I still remember discovering gravity exists when I made my first 2D game in Unity. I hit play and everything fell off the upright plane I was using as 2D terrain.
