Mayor Bruce Harrell considers it scandalous and hypocritical that Katie Wilson's parents help her pay for child care in Seattle. When he was asked about one of his own kids during his first campaign, he said his parenting choices were no one's business. www.seattleweekly.com/news/a-city-...

Bruce Harrell and Sara Nelson, on the brink of losing both their elections, want attention.

In 2015 Harrell supported a budget slip pre election put forward by Sawant to fund a municipal broadband pilot, then voted against it after election.

He is a liar.

I have no idea what they were thinking with their endorsement - honestly. Spotts was amazing but he’s gone - and Harrell worked against him frequently.

The @wabikes.bsky.social mayoral endorsement is wrong - if you bike or roll around Seattle, the only choice for mayor is @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social.

Harrell has worked tirelessly to claw back, downscale and delay critical bike safety projects.

If you bike in Seattle, Wilson for mayor. Easy.

I’d prefer a mayor who quit Oxford a few weeks early over a mayor who quit on safe streets, transit, affordable housing, and Seattle in general.

Drawing showing the changes planned for S Orcas Street and LWB

What the records show:
-Major elements of the LWB redesign, like the changes at Orcas Street, nearly went out for construction before being killed by the Mayor's Office
-Parks staff were continuing to negotiate over individual elements of the project as late as early June.

This is so incredibly condescending from the Seattle Times. Do you also ask male candidates if they'd considered running for an "easier" office?

Harrell and his endless "I'm from these streets" is a call to stick with the Seattle Process. It's a message to homeowners that only their voice counts. It a campaign to do the bidding of business. Wilson is a chance to join the 21st century and sweep away the cobwebs

This was always the plan.

Project 2025 was Donald Trump's blueprint to seize unchecked power within the federal government and restrict Americans' freedoms. And he is implementing it right in front of our eyes.

β€œWhile development in the area is meant to maximize the appeal of dense urban living, coming off the impacts of COVID and challenges of major street and sidewalk construction, representatives had specific concerns about customers who drive from the Eastside or neighborhoods like Madison Park and Madrona […] They are having a hard time getting to their destinations or are confused by the new traffic pattern.”

Under Mayor Harrell’s leadership, bike, walk and bus improvements that required years of outreach can be removed without anyΒ notice When neighbors asked the city to make Lake Washington Boulevard safer for people walking and biking, the city kicked off a half-decade public outreach process that stalled out once Bruce Harrell became mayor before concluding with a lackluster plan to add some speed humps and a couple stop signs. Then without any outreach at all, Seattle Parks this summer announced they were cancelling the rest…

City planners did all the overdone outreach process, got told everyone supports bus lanes, didn’t like that outcome so they opted for a closed door private meeting with the 4 people who didn’t like bus lanes and said we must cancel them

This is called reverse engineering

Bruce Harrell at the Fremont Neighborhood Council forum last night: "Let's talk about pedestrian deaths: since I've been in office, the death count now is at 10, that was about half of what it was in 2021."

Fourteen people walking have been killed in Seattle so far this year, with 3 months to go.

Hi @npr.org! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide!

It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers.

It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!
