I think I will be able to make it if we get North of North season 2 somewhere in the middle.

As long as we get new stuff from an emotional support Canadian TV show every six months or so, I think I can pull through.

I can't believe I have to say this but journalism is not a crime.

Don Lemon
Georgia Fort
Jamael Lundy
Trahern Crews

These four journalists were doing their job.

And it's hard not to notice that all four are Black.

Reporting while Black is not a crime.

I understand the sentiment and trying to welcome a big name, but I do think Rowdy Audi would eat Pat McAfee alive, given his behavior and closeness to Trump.

Like even beyond Gotham or NC, I think Pat's probably gonna get the loudest round of boos of the season if he gets announced to the crowd.

Federal immigration raids put ‘fear’ into many Minnesota United players The Loons also have had foreign players say no to contracts because of the current situation.

MLS's Minnesota United is missing out on players due to ICE.

"The current immigration enforcement actions—which has led directly to the shooting deaths of two Minneapolis residents, Renee Good and Alex Pretti—[have] hurt MNUFC’s ability to bring in new players."

I cannot tell you how much doubt was consistently directed at the Gaza Health Ministry’s casualty numbers and how much pressure was put on news organizations to couch those numbers as unreliable.

Biden himself said they were fabricated!

The news of the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis has broken out beyond normal political spaces, like the Reddit community r/catbongos. The furry friends of Psaki staffers helped reenact what you'd normally see over there.

Labor Department building with no banners on it.

Small thing. Not sure if it’s weather related, but the big Trump and Teddy Roosevelt banners on the Department of Labor building are gone.

This is the guy, who, when you need to advance in MLB The Show and beat up on the Rockies, is the last guy left in the bullpen before the game gives up and puts the closer out there.

They lost Weaver, Williams, and am I right in thinking he’s the only major league addition they’ve made in response?

This piece is excellent & it definitely speaks to the hesitance by institutions to let people speak out.

Victor Wembanyama even mentioned this directly when he prefaced his words with "PR has tried, but I'm not going to sit here and give some politically correct [answer.]"

People are busy offering other examples like Arizona but they're losing sight of the main point, which is that too many states put their capitals far from their big cities.

And it's even stranger when the smaller city doesn't even have the state's university (looking at you, Missouri and Oregon.)

Even in places she tried to make composite characters it’s still obvious to people in the know who they’re composites of.

To be fair they did say no *new* cover athlete, just to get everyone’s hopes up they’d do something special for the 20-year anniversary of the game… only to pick Judge as a re-tread.

I don't believe NWSLPA has, unless you have a statement they have not posted publicly.

But here are two players who have:

Yes! I saw Gabby and Paige at the Takeover Tour game and asked Paige (who was commish) about it.

Kaylie won and it seemed like a bit of a surprise.

(Re: Liz, I was also a bit in awe since I ran into some of her friends before that game and they were her friends *from Houston* who traveled in!)

Both of these two had excellent things to say (Pannek in this clip, Heise in the next.)

Both are from the greater Twin Cities area, and are also going to represent Team USA next month at the Olympics.

This right here is how you carry the flag for your community, your state and your country.

I think relative to the stakes, this might be one of the worst football games I have ever seen.

Separate from whether this is a good idea or not (it is!), but worth noting this is the president of FC St Pauli, the most explicitly left-wing club arguably in all of Europe.

I'll be a lot more encouraged if other, less explicitly left-wing officials join him.

Yes! Hard to write a series of things neatly and keep it within 300 characters but camera for landlords is a separate thing he did.

Local news parallel to me is less about always bringing a camera than just having everyone know you're on the street and able to be on the scene all the time.

Got a couple more women's soccer players jumping in. More normal for them to speak out than players in the top men's leagues but as a whole they've definitely been quieter after Rapinoe & co. retiring. bsky.app/profile/roey...

I wrote about it back when it happened but still amazing to me how quickly Anna's stand as just one player standing up turned into 10.
