The funniest example the wasnโ€™t aggressive per se but definitely dangerous was when I saw one that thought the bridge over the Venice canals was an intersection. It tried to turn right - blinker and all - into the canal for a few mins then just powered down and waited for back up.

Iโ€™ve seen some reports that have said that Waymoโ€™s have gotten more aggressive over time - Iโ€™ve certainly witnessed some of that in LA.

Bezos forgot to fire the pollster. Big mistake if he really wants to kill democracy in darkness.

Not the first or second or third thing that should be said about thisโ€ฆ

If anything about humanity is true itโ€™s that we make the same mistakes over and over and over again.

Heโ€™s got Kavanaugh in perpetuity based on whoever paid off his massive credit card debt and whatever other blackmail he has on that little beer drinking toad.

Thereโ€™s a tell in here as well - he canโ€™t hear Tara but he jumps in at the end after Piersโ€™ correct comment (weird to say) that it seems dubious that Tracey has audio issues for a difficult question. Tracey says โ€œI swear to god!โ€ that he canโ€™t hear.

Very very telling that Vance believes birthright citizenship is not only acceptable but necessary for a 5 time medalist, but is a non-starter for babies born to Haitian immigrants on work visas or babies of Venezuelans that sought asylum from Maduroโ€™s regime.

Kudos @zackbeauchamp.bsky.social - excellent piece (linked in this thread). Brazil is still very much a developing nation and the fact their institutions held so much firmer than ours should alarm every American. We are very much in the midst of our next constitutional crisis w/ weaker institutions.

I agree with your points at the end of your post - I think Talarico in particular is saying that heโ€™d like for evangelicals and religious folks broadly to be a plank of his constituency. I donโ€™t get the sense he plans on having them be the entire foundation for his personal coalition.

I love that and am saddened by the fact that we are so far beyond that being a possibility in the US unless you wanted to write books about Trump intervening single-handedly to win wars like heโ€™s Dr manhattan.

I mean Dan thatโ€™s exactly what they did last time buddy. I really thought this dude would do shit besides evening news hits and social media dunks but heโ€™s just another Swalwell that thinks those things are the whole job of being in congress. We did not need to open a Swalwell East location.

They will never blow up filibuster for something like this - they know their policies are very unpopular and not supported by a majority of Americans. If they nuke filibuster for this, any legislation could get thru on 50 votes + Dem VP tie break, thatโ€™s good for Americans, nightmare for GOP

Bottom line I think thereโ€™s less risk in taking a senate seat vs propelling herself all the way to the presidency in her early 40s from a house seat. And that losing a presidential bid would create said stigma only overcome a total of 8 times, with many of those coming in unique circumstances.

I personally wouldnโ€™t want any of those careers to be a parallel for mine. I looked it up because a lone โ€œ?โ€ grinds my gears an irrational amount. Trump gets an asterisk for winning first time. Before those itโ€™s Nixon and Johnson (also asterisk) and then you have to go all the way back to 1800s.

Think of the fantastical story Biden had to sell us - filled with spectacle (riding in on his white horse after nazis with tiki torches), and lies (Iโ€™m an elderly transition president).

Outside of Biden, there are very few presidents that overcame losing a prior election or primary to become prez
