Very similar to my constituency, and very similar to my likely vote tomorrow too. There’s definitely a bit of holding your nose when you get further down the list, but anything to keep the fash out.

I’m sure you know this, but as a PSA, you don’t need your polling card. As a former Presiding Officer, I can tell you that as long as you have ID( which you might not even have to produce) you’re grand.

Just seeing it under the “Go Packaging Free” banner is especially egregious.

Whichcandidate.ie statement from Aontú on the question “Abortion should be allowed in a wider range of circumstances “, reads: Aontú supports the right to life for everyone. 85% of abortions are for socio economic reasons. Many mothers feel that they do not have a choice to have their children. Aontú seek to ensure that all mothers have the economic confidence to raise their children to their full potential.”

I think it does say they’re anti-choice, though. On the statement “Abortion should be allowed in a wider range of circumstances” Aontú disagrees with it, and the first line of their response is “Aontú supports the right to life for everyone.” It sounds anti-choice to me.

I second that about www.whichcandidate.ie I’ve just used it and found it super useful to get my thoughts in order. I wish more of the independents had answered it though, as some of them I don’t know, so now I have to do my own research. Tsk!!
