Saw this film right, about white people going to Peru as part of the Catholic Church, but it was just to trick bears into helping them find gold. Not saying that's what the New Pope is up to. Just saying, Bears, check if the pope is a real Catholic before going into the woods.

But I have now got in my head that this should happen after Batman tears up the pimps money, beats the mutant leader and has his chat with Clark

Great day with the Scottish EM ST6s at @uofglasgow.bsky.social doing the thoracotomy course. Big thanks to Mr Euan Dickson and Mr Ian Colquhoun for there amazing support, the Monkees ED nurses and the always brilliant Laura McGregor.
None on here, but sod that X(YY) website.
But, what is it good for?
28.04.2025 17:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great talk by @ematthedeepend.bsky.social on social inequality in the ED at the NES Educational Conference today.
I think it's really hard to conceptualise what skint really means if you've never been there.
Any change yet, though?
24.04.2025 15:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The statement "surgeons can't eat turtles" is a common, albeit incorrect, belief. It is not a literal prohibition. The saying likely originated from the idea that turtles are a source of salmonella, a bacteria that can cause food poisoning and infection, and that surgeons should be extra careful about their hygiene and avoid potentially dangerous foods due to the nature of their work

18.04.2025 20:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As a Glasgow student at the time, there was a joy in the "I go to that night club, I've got a card for that video shop"
As a grown up "my daughters go to that school" less so
Particularly as keeping up with innovative practice in multiple specialties is challenging. The reading I had to do on immunotherapy induced colitis to content myself this was a "watch and wait" patient. Even just an "in event of crisis ED should follow these guidelines" in the EPR would help.
16.04.2025 12:45 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The optimal environment I think is more true than it's ever been. Patient's in busy departments have been shown to not "want to bother" busy staff. I can imagine this being increased by an order of magnitude in some mental health conditions.
16.04.2025 11:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are a number of long term illnesses where relapse is not unexpected. And whilst emergent would be better treated by specialists in their own field rather than general Emergency Specialists.
Psychiatry is one of a number where planning for crisis in their patient group would be useful.
