Particularly as keeping up with innovative practice in multiple specialties is challenging. The reading I had to do on immunotherapy induced colitis to content myself this was a "watch and wait" patient. Even just an "in event of crisis ED should follow these guidelines" in the EPR would help.

The optimal environment I think is more true than it's ever been. Patient's in busy departments have been shown to not "want to bother" busy staff. I can imagine this being increased by an order of magnitude in some mental health conditions.

There are a number of long term illnesses where relapse is not unexpected. And whilst emergent would be better treated by specialists in their own field rather than general Emergency Specialists.
Psychiatry is one of a number where planning for crisis in their patient group would be useful.
