I liked the cultural specificity. It was a Japanese film for a Japanese audience. A refreshing change from the Western trope of individualistic heroism. Much like Shin Godzilla.

The idea that education is the same thing as job-training and no more than that is so disheartening.

Getting a job isn’t the goal. Human flourishing is the goal. Getting a job might be a step to flourishing, (or not) but to think “job” is the top of the mountain rather than base camp is so sad.

My favourite Bond film. All the tropes amped up to the point of parody or meta-commentary, Michael Lonsdale chewing the scenery as Drax and a great outing for Derek Meddings.
