or knowing someone - imagine your cis friend or sibling or something committing some violent act (like going to that protest) and now the FBI is at your door saying you can either help them lock them up or be charged as an accomplice to terrorism

The kind of thing I'm most concerned about is a protest where violence breaks out (for any reason) - any trans person present could be branded a terrorist with no pretense whatsoever

I think the specific concern is that they will use trans identity as evidence of NVE (or even association with trans people, as in the case of CK's alleged shooter)
