Every argument against karting as an Olympic sport can be used against at least 6 others.

Side note, if the IOC brought in karting as an Olympic sport it would change the world of motorsport so much. I really want it to happen and there's no good reason for it not to.

If EVs were any good at track stuff they could fix this problem! Honestly though, a 95 dB limit would be easy for most cars and you'd barely notice it a couple blocks away in a city. Not sure why this is any more onerous than a pro sports stadium TBH.

Unfortunately karting has a stigma of being amateurish or unserious, plus you'll never get more than a couple hundred folks as a live audience at an indoor place.

I do think karting has good theoretical mass appeal. It's more driver-focused (i.e. "relatable"), you can put a track anywhere, and anyone can pop down on a Tuesday night to try their hand for fifty bucks and *directly* compare themselves to a pro.
