My gym is my personal trainer's garage.
She did manage to get it up to 50 degrees this morning.
But the 1 mile dog walk before that was truly brutal.

I mean, sure, they'll release them after election day if they're actually American citizens.

42% of Texans voted for Harris yet Democrats will end up with 21% of the districts.

We also sat by as police were militarized more and more, and trained to escalate instead of deescalate more and more. We became so conditioned to victim blame that we see Good and Pretti killed and so many accept the bullshit explanations as to why they deserved it. Only the scope has changed.

This is what makes him so problematic. I tend to agree with him on nutrition, although I'm not full carnivore (just Keto-ish).
He's the guy who sounds reasonable when you listen to him for the first 2 minutes, then you realize he's batshit crazy.

Jimmy Carter should have been able to beat Trump.
And he died before election day.
The fact that Harris wasn't good enough so people either voted for a wanna-be dictator or just sat out and let him win tells you everything you need to know about Democrat voters. And a sad number of my fellow Indys.

The reality where Democrat voters didn't have their heads up their asses and actually voted for her?

08.02.2026 18:42 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

What was my first thought too. Like, WTF does this have to do with 5 year old US citizens?

Biden didn't bulldoze shit. BiBi did, and had the munitions to do it already on hand.
Biden tried to stay a voice in the room to curb BiBi's worst tendencies. You think BiBi sent humanitarian aid into Gaza because he was a humanitarian?
Trump removed BiBi's restrictions on Day 1.

Dan Quayle. The guy who may have had one of the biggest hands in saving our democracy on 1/6 by encouraging Pence to do his constitutional duty.
He may have been goofy, but I'm not convinced he was as dumb as we thought.

I have a strong suspicion that those on bluesky encouraging purity tests by talking about how bad Harris was are sock puppets sent here to spread disinformation now that many on the left have abandoned Twitter. But here they don't get extended reach by buying blue checks.

08.02.2026 15:46 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You can't fix anything when you throw your only power away.
That power is the vote.
And you allowed someone into power that promises to take that away from you, just because Harris didn't meet your purity test.
Now you're encouraging others to make it stick by sitting out the midterms.

08.02.2026 15:42 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh look it's the throw your vote away idiot again.
You do not have 3 choices for POTUS. You have two. I 100% guarantee one of those two will win. When one of them is promising autocracy, the choice should be clear, even if the person promising democracy isn't perfect.

We're stuck between a party that celebrates dictatorship and the party that repeatedly punches itself in the crotch while complaining how badly their crotch hurts and blaming everyone else for making them punch themselves in the crotch.
It's hard to stay hopeful some days.

Holding one leader accountable by not voting and thus not holding the opposition leader accountable is not accountability, it's hiding from responsibility. But you can't hide; people who wanted to hold Harris accountable are responsible for Trump being in office.

08.02.2026 15:38 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, there is.
Because in any presidential election you get two choices.
You do not have the option of a 3rd party or neither of those two. You WILL get one of them. You can either make a choice or throw your vote away and be responsible when the autocrat makes it into power.

08.02.2026 15:37 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And they still don't understand that by bashing someone for theoretically supporting genocide they actually end up supporting someone who encourages and celebrates genocide so he can put up beach front resorts in Gaza.
Call me whatever but I'll fight your effort to undermine the midterm elections.

08.02.2026 15:35 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The fact that you people are crawling out of the woodwork now, and not back when we had meaningful elections where there was legitimate choice, is what is driving the rest of us insane.
I'll take a right-leaning part over autocracy every single day of the week. Now is not the time for purity tests.

08.02.2026 15:34 β€” πŸ‘ 11    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

I don't care if you voted for her.
Encouraging purity tests for candidates and encouraging people to not vote for them if they don't pass is a vote toward the end of voting. This is not the time to be playing stupid games then bitching when you win stupid prizes.

08.02.2026 15:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

OK, this is an important thing though.
By being forced to shift on this, they're going to start losing anti-vaxxers.
She even made him repeat it and state it plainly, so he can't deny it later when people get pissed.
This is the way.

Yet every time Biden posted they claimed he wasn't running his social media account, and that it was further proof of his senility.

08.02.2026 15:26 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh, it is. Without a doubt. But that doesn't mean I have to choose, and that doesn't mean I'm doing anything to make things worse by watching, nor will things get any better if I don't watch.

I have a new appreciation for Canadians, who live in a country that is North of Buffalo.

They agree with you. Apparently the Olympic Village is one giant sex party. You've got athletes where just about everybody is a 10 from the neck down, they're eating 9K calories like in training but not burning it in competition, and they're amped beyond belief.

Except whether they lose money or not for that advertising has little to do with us watching the Superbowl. They may debut those ads, but they'll live on and be re-used. If they're truly great they'll get tons of online streaming. It's a form of entertainment in itself.

08.02.2026 13:27 β€” πŸ‘ 23    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I always watch the Superbowl. As someone who has played sports, just the thought of one single game to decide a lifetime of someone's hopes and dreams.
I used to watch the Olympics and the Stanley Cup finals as well, but I just don't have that kind of time anymore. This is one night a year.

08.02.2026 13:25 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Democrats are the party you have.
It's either them or MAGA.
You do not get to choose another party or neither, because doing so doesn't get you that choice, it gets you someone choosing for you.
So either sit here and whine about Dems or try to make them better.

08.02.2026 13:23 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

They always thought an autocracy would be great if their side was in charge. Things get done, no red tape, and their way of life gets codified into law.
And it is great, right up until it isn't, and then it's too late.

08.02.2026 13:21 β€” πŸ‘ 38    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

If MAGA is consistent about one thing, it's that they love to set rules then hate to play by them.
Partisan gerrymandering is fine, unless blue states do it.
Cancel culture is great, unless the left does it.
Everything MAGA does they hate when the left does back to them.

a meme β€” the top says β€œMy dog just got a haircut and now he looks like he gave up drinking and got his life together” and underneath are 2 photos of a dog (a schnauzer i think?). on the left, the β€œbefore,” he’s scruffy and in need of a haircut and a bath. and on the right, the β€œafter,” he’s clean and clipped and wearing a jaunty red bow tie and looking very dapper indeed.
