The Canada Summer Jobs tour continues at Today's Family G.L. Armstrong summer camp - where students often keep coming back, and even find their career calling. When work is this much fun, it's no surprise!

Al Schutten started Janco Steel in his early 20s, and today oversees a massive Hamilton campus specializing in making parts out of flat-rolled Canadian steel. Thank you for the fascinating tour! The steel industry critical to our country includes derivatives like Janco.

It was fascinating to see research in action at the Hamilton General Hospital, including at the Burn Centre where they heal patients using their own stem cells. #HamOnt is fortunate to be home to groundbreaking medical research, which is funded in part through federal grants.

Congratulations to Hamilton Mountain's Kim Kuipers and the rest of Team Canada for medalling gold x2 and silver at the 2025 International Dragon Boat World Championships in Germany! I was so pleased to hear all about it and see the impressive hardware in person.

Just a short hop across from McQuesten Park! I enjoyed my first visit to Coffee Bunny Inc, and meeting the owners of this adorable new small business.

We got a whole class of toddlers singing O Canada at Tapawingo Day Care after handing out flags! Clearly their Canada Summer Jobs leaders are having fun while learning and being good citizen role models.

The Alzheimer Society branch on Hamilton Mountain provides vital services for those living with dementia and those who care for them. And Canada Summer Jobs hires have been huge helps in that work; while gaining valuable experience!

Thanks to Finance Parliamentary Secretary Ryan Turnbull for kicking off pre-budget consultations in #HamOnt with steel and other manufacturers, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and many more. Hamilton has valuable input & I am taking the ideas to Ottawa with colleagues MPs Gould, Rana and Danko.

A bright and beautiful new space on Hamilton Mountain for the lucky Canada Summer Jobs hirees at the amazing Sisters in Sync! All are doing work related to their education, and inspiring each other daily.

It was a "shear" delight to welcome Blue Lion Cuts to Hamilton Mountain with the opening of their beautiful barber shop on Concession Street. Congratulations!

The Young Caregivers Association offers summer camp for free, thanks in part to funding through Canada Summer Jobs.
The fitting theme this week was Super Heroes. These children help parents, siblings and grandparents manage chronic illnesses in their everyday lives - true superheroes!

Today on Hamilton Mountain, we brought PM Carney to visit the amazing Walters Group for an announcement on steel that shows our government is listening to the industry. Canada needs Hamilton steel producers & derivatives. We will protect our steel jobs and build up the domestic market.

I hope you’re having as much fun as I am on Hamilton Mountain. My day has included a beautiful 🇨🇦raising ceremony at the Baitun Nusrat Jama'at & an amazing Pipe & Drum performance at Legion Branch 163. With communities like these, Canada is clearly stronger than ever.

I am very glad our Hamilton Mountain Canada Summer Jobs students are doing such important and meaningful work in research and advocacy with CanFASD. So much to learn about the effects of fetal alcohol.

We are in regular contact with ArcelorMittal Dofasco so we can protect our steel industry against illegal tariffs and ongoing dumping. Domestic steel production is critical to an independent economy.

Great to meet with @westendhba.bsky.social and DeSozio Homes to discuss feedback on a range of issues affecting the housing industry, including the impacts of U.S. tariffs.

As we mark the 75th anniversary of the start of the Korean War this week, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at HMCS Haida reaffirms our commitment to honour the many Canadians who served during this war. Thank you to our veterans for their courage and sacrifice.

A visit to Festitalia’s 50th Anniversary Expo is the perfect way to celebrate Italian culture in Hamilton during Italian Heritage Month!
It was great to see Frank Raso, the founding chair of Festitalia.
The Expo marketplace is open from 10 am to 5 pm June 21 & 22 at the Hamilton Italian Centre.
