I've always wondered why the default behaviour is double click. It's tedious. I understand not loading something into memory unless you need it, but then make it toggleable and then have it be default behaviour to single click. Little UX stuff like this all over Godot.

Yes. Patents are a very old system that allowed inventors to make money off of their inventions before everyone else figured out the tech. An inventor's advantage so to speak. But since then, the system has been abused and exploited to hell.

Patents are given even if they are not sound. They need to be tested in court to test validity really.

I guess conceptually if something happens over a shorter duration it is, by and large, faster than if it happened over a longer duration.

So in that sense, shutter *speed* does work, rather than something like shutter "duration".

It's also just a threat to other humans. When electric vehicles were quite new, yet also starting to get some traction, there were accidents with people who literally could not hear the car coming.

"Fake vroom vroom sounds" have more utility than people realise.

I think the idea was there when bluesky was in development, but even the lead guy (Jack, previous owner of twitter) dipped out long before bluesky was open to the public.

And this is true! I decompiled one of my favourite games once, Shadowrun: Hong Kong, because the game ran pretty badly. After seeing the code, I understand why. My lord. But I still love the game.
