Super Freaks 1 Ultimate Edition Turbo will be at SAGE 2025 this year, speeding the game up and adding new features and balance tweaks to turbocharge it even further.

Check out the new sprinting feature, Turbo mode, and the redone Fast Forward modifier!

Genuine question:

Nexus Mods or ModDB? Would like to get modding for Super Freaks Ultimate a new home after Gamebanana fucked us over, and those are the best two I can think of (yes I know about Mod.io, you have to use its API tho)

Conveyor Castle got the nerf chainsaw today, for example. I’m realizing a few of these levels aren’t super balanced for playing in one attempt so…give me some time and they will be!

Little update on Ultimate 3.1 (the Turbo update). It’s still coming! Because Turbo gives you one life I’ve had to playtest every level in hard/fast forward again. The endgame levels are shockingly enough too hard for even me so this has been harder than I thought!

Creative problem solving is a huge part of gamedev. When your foundation has little issues, you think of the most elegant way to solve them so they don’t become a problem later.

We’re now at the stage where we adjust based on internal feedback. The gameplay is very good, though now that we have a fully playable piece of the game, we can digest it and figure out what needs overhauling. You do that early on so you have a clear vision to follow.

Little update on the new super freaks game being developed in private:

Yesterday we hit our first big milestone, the first vertical slice. The entire first level is fully playable from start to finish and the main gameplay loop is in.

Next year for the Super Freaks 20th Anniversary (yes really!), we have an in-progress game being made to celebrate it. It is coming along very quickly, so you’ll probably get your first look at it within the next month or two, if I had to guess. IMO, it’s as good as SF1UE!

Anti Freaks Story has also been massively touched up and is on track for v4.0. Use your rage meter to perform double jumps, or charge it up for powerful blast jumps! That rage meter is your health bar though, so be careful!

First up is Turbo Mode which is coming to v3.1! After a big rework it’s a lot better balanced but still much faster and crazier. Slight boss touch ups are happening too!
