A few months ago I enabled Apple Intelligence (lmao) for a few days to see if it would make Siri better. In my experience it made Siri worse, so I switched back to a “less” intelligent Siri that at least works ever so slightly more frequently.

I use it to play specific episodes of Bluey on our Apple TV when the kiddo requests them. Half the time it works, and half the time it gets stuck in “Sorry, I can’t find Bluey season X episode Y in your Apple Music library” 🙃

I just had the funniest interaction with Siri. I’m driving and using CarPlay. I say “Hey Siri, play the playlist ‘The White Stripes’ on shuffle.”

(I have a playlist because Siri is incapable of playing discographies when artist has a self-titled album.)

Switch 1 to Switch 1 transfer also went smooth, although having to download and use Island Transfer Tool because ACNH save data doesn’t transfer was a bit cumbersome.

Happy to report that the system transfer to Switch 2 went fast and well, and my Animal Crossing New Horizons island made it over fine!

Now to transfer my wife’s system & ACNH island to her new Switch OLED (formerly mine). Hope it goes as smoothly!

Yes, primarily it’s for accessibility (to provide information about the image to the reader), otherwise when browsing a page (or social media feed) it’s just “image”. It also has the added benefit (on Bluesky, at least) of making images searchable and filterable.

Yep and yep! The text should be descriptive because it is the *alternative* to seeing the image, not in addition to.

In 2017 I doubt it was AI. At that time subtitles & closed captioning would have been outsourced to cheapest contractor paid extremely little with short deadlines and little oversight or quality control.
