Image from the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Singularly." Captain Archer is pacing in his cabin and has raised his right fist in frustration. Text across the top and bottom reads, "Why did the AI bubble burst in 2025? / ChatGPT I need you!
In the season 2 episode "Singularity" of Star Trek: Enterprise, Captain Archer struggles to write a one page preface to a biography of his father. T'Pol declines to write it for him. If only the AI bubble hadn't burst he could use ChatGPT. This is probably for the best.

Angelique curses Barnabas Collins just after he shot her in the shoulder on Dark Shadows.
Madelaine Perkins laughs maniacally after her coven has hoodwinked Carl Kolchak into destroying the magical objects which protect Madame Trevi from her spells on Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
No one played a maniacal witch like #LaraParker. Whether she was the vengeful #Angelique chasing Barnabas on #DarkShadows, or the fashion model Madelaine Perkins hexing her way to success on #KolchakTheNightStalker, she left no scenery unchewed when the cameras were rolling.

Movie poster for Night of Dark Shadows.
Night of Dark Shadows (1971) is a less lurid movie than House of DS. Focusing on Quentin Collins, it is tale of ghosts, possession, reincarnation, and centuries old murder and revenge. And witches.
Notable mainly as the screen debut of Kate Jackson.

Blu-ray box cover for "House of Dark Shadows."
House of Dark Shadows (1970) is a bloodier retelling of the original Barnabas Collins storyline from the TV soap opera.
Relying on watchers' knowledge of the show, the movie sacrifices characterization for lurid set pieces. Not that that's a bad thing.

Publicity photo of Jonathan Frid as Barnabas Collins on "Dark Shadows." Barnabas is baring his fangs and holding his iconic silver handled cane. Text split across top and bottom reads, "I may bite your neck and suck your blood / but I'll feel bad about it"
"Dark Shadows" was almost canceled due to low ratings during its first season. The introduction of angsty vampire Barnabas Collins in episodes 211-220 saved the show.
Supernatural shenanigans ensued.

I forgot to add to the alt text:
Text split between top and bottom reads, "If it walks like a duck it might not be a duck./It might be Bugs Bunny disguised as a duck"
Image from the classic Looney Tunes cartoon "Rabbit Fire." Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are walking in the woods. Bugs is disguised as a duck. His ears are hidden under a rubber cap, he has black bird feathers stuck to his tail with a plunger head, he's wearing green scuba flippers, and he has a fake yellow duck bill strapped to his face. Daffy, walking behind Bugs, is wearing a fluffy white bunny tail and fake rabbit shoes.
If it walks like a duck it might not be a duck.
It might be Bugs Bunny disguised as a duck.

Image from the end of Dan Curtis' "Bram Stoker's Dracula." Long shot of dead Drac impaled by a spear against an upended table. On the wall behind him is a large painting showing Dracula in his warlord glory hundreds of years ago. An empty crimson velvet-lined coffin lies on its side against the wall under the painting.
In Dan Curtis' "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1974) TV movie, Dracula is impaled standing up with a spear against an upended table.
Also the first Dracula to feature the reincarnation of Drac's long dead love subplot, recycled from Curtis' horror soap opera "Dark Shadows."

Image capture from Enterprise S1 E26 "Shockwave," approximately 6:12 timestamp. Captain Archer is looking at a monitor. Faintly visible on the back of the monitor is an ID plate.
Zoomed in and cropped image of the ID plate in the screen capture. The image has been adjusted and enhanced to mave details on the ID visible. Across the top is the number 05-94727. Smaller text is not legible.

I was rewatching "Shockwave" ( #StarTrekENT S1E26) recently and noticed an equipment ID plate on the back of a monitor Captain Archer was using to meet with Admiral Forrest. It is very similar to ID plates used on US military equipment.

Side by side screen captures. On the left is the reptile (flinching away from a torch) from the Kolchak episode "The Sentry." On the right is the Horta from the Star Trek episode "The Devil in the Dark." Captain Kirk, back to the camera, is pointing a phaser at the critter. Text on the bottom reads, "REAL MOTHERS."
Kolchak: The Night Stalker's final episode "The Sentry" was clearly inspired by Star Trek's "The Devil in the Dark." Except one had a subterranean reptile creature and the other had a silicon based throw rug.

The Rakshasa in "Horror in the Heights." It's startled because Kolchak saw through its disguise as Miss Emily and just shot it with a blessed arrow.
In Hinduism, the #Rakshasa was a shape-shifting #monster with a taste for human flesh. Known to TV audiences as a monster-of-the-week in #KolchakTheNightStalker ( #HorrorInTheHeights). Appearing as the person their victim trusted most, the fiend easily overcame its next meal.

Why do vampire movies seldom show the vampire actually stepping out of or into the coffin? Because there's no graceful or scary way to do it.

True. I really liked it even though the plots made sense. The special effects were excellent for the time and I think they still hold up. Plus they had Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing as "guest artists" (in separate episodes).
