Still alive! I've heard French T grows more root than top, so wondering what happens when I plant it in a container much larger in volume? ๐ŸŒฑ

These eventually turn into black berries. I've also noticed new clusters of flowers blooming on different branches. I know seeds from Florida and California appear on ebay around September every year, but this seems indicative of multiple yearly batches. ๐ŸŒฑ

Reposting: I think this is actually Alpinia Mutica (false cardamom) the more I look at this. Still a very cool and fragrant plant. Been cooking with it.

I am a huge metal fan, including the entire genres downstream from Sabbath. IE bands like Sleep, OM, High on Fire, Pentagram, Electric Wizard , Earthride, the sword, Dopethrone, Church of Misery, etc.
Not saddened though since nobody lives forever. Just regular respect. ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿค˜

Doing the usual rounds this morning. I've observed that all my Zingibers look doomed the first year, then runway models every year afterwards. The myoga I'm growing up front looked like seventy bucks wasted until it came back stronger year 2. White ginger (pic 3) is now spreading like crazy ๐ŸŒฑ

Have been neglecting to deadhead my basil for the last month, so this is what my garden looks like all day. They don't even pay attention to me when I walk by lol

This is why I wanted to cage this. Unfortunately, it split before I sorted out how to construct one. It quickly made new growth in the void (pic 3), but still annoying. ๐ŸŒฑ

Still trying to figure out Molokhia. I tend to get great germination, but few survivors over time. It's at least taller than the last time I tried. Also noticed the Malabar spinach (same bed) is starting to reach for stuff to climb. ๐ŸŒฑ

I'm thrilled my French Tarragon is making it through July (so far). Also, the tomato cage for Mexican mint marigold seems to have also been a good idea. Normally, it flops over and spreads little volunteers in the mulch surrounding the raised beds. ๐ŸŒฑ

I think this is called Brown Stew. Been doing "cooking labs" with a new friend of mine who's originally from the Caribbean. Also got use my Big Kahuna burner for the first time.

Watering neighbors plants. Gave me the opportunity to check on a curry tree root division I gave them three months ago. Looking good! The second image was taken the day I planted it. ๐ŸŒฑ #gardening

French tarragon growing outdoors in Hotlanta (zone 8a). Potting soil experiment is doing way better than previous years. Growth is pretty slow - possibly due to shade from curry trees. ๐ŸŒฑ

Seeing more buds popping up from my Japanese ginger. Still uncertain of how to properly harvest it. My "officianale" ginger in the back yard is getting taller. I'm thinking of starting some Galangal as well ๐ŸŒฑ

African blue basil. I have an extra on my deck that isn't nearly as purple, but seems to grow a little faster. Still need to figure out cages for these. They will eventually require support.

Zingiber Zingiber is the genus of the culinary ginger plant and it also contains a few exotic ornamental species. Although Zingiber is primarily a tropical genus, Zingiber mioga has proven to be amazingly hard...

Kind of expensive BTW (got it here www.plantdelights.com/collections/...)

Japanese ginger (zingiber myoga). White feather cultivar. Want one? I think it's spread enough to do a division if interested.

Curry leaf berries looking promising. If these make it all the way to September, 2026 will be a new 80+ plant year. I made around $250 the first year despite giving most away for free or trading.
