I was emotionally invested toward the end, though the ๐ถ scenes felt a little too descriptive for such young characters, but the stakes and emotions are high and very grounded while the ice skating and hocky are a backdrop on this wonderful story.
Unsteady by Peyton Corinne was a fantastic little romance novel even though it's slightly outside of my wheelhouse.
Not being a sports fan in any capacity, I thought this would be difficult to get into, but it's not. It's starts as an angsty teen romance, but it goes much deeper.

The combat is very Souls like, which I'm not good at at all and refuse to play, some odd illogical puzzles, and some buggy moments take it down a notch from being my favorite of the series. but it makes up for all of that with wonderful music, animation, storytelling, and creative creature designs. Overall, Silent Hill f is worth expirencing for any fan of the franchise and is good enough to be considered one of the greats. (I put it slightly below 2, and definitely above 4.)
Just finished my first play through of Silent Hill f.
It was an amazing story with plenty of intrigue with deep storytelling and plenty of reasons to play it again as I try to get the true ending. but I do have some gripes.

Overall, it's a pretty straightforward scifi story that dabbles with some heart for character development that's used to create incredible set pieces that make cooperative gameplay challenging and a lot of fun!
Finished Split Fiction with my wife the other day, and I loved it so much. It's not as great as It Takes Two or A Way Out, but the gameplay is so much fun, especially toward the end! it gets incredibly creative!

Wit Guillermo Del Toro's signature style and a fantastic cast, Mary Shelley's novel was brought to life in a spectacular way that had me glued to the screen and made me want to see more! Overall, it's one of those rare times an adaptation lives up to the source material!
It's the book brought to life in a fantastic way, and I couldn't be happier! Frankenstein is one of my favorite books of all time, and I love most of the movies since, but this one is hands down my favorite!

The Rats are characters no one likes. We already know their fate if you watched this after the show. If you watched this before season 4, you're gonna be ver confused. Dolph Lungren shows up, and he's just there. This feels like a paycheck more than a story. It goes beat for beat like a tired old tropey story and offers nothing new. Anyone who's seen this kind of "heist." movie knows exactly how it's going to end. Especially if you've seen the show. The talent is fine. They're doing their best with what they've got, but it honestly felt like no one cares anymore. the writing is horrible, and the direction is weak. Plus.... and I have to mention this. As the movie was ending, I didn't want to be too harsh on it, but out of nowhere, a character yells as they head toward a horse-drawn buggy, "Shotgun!"
Shotgun? Really? In a world with no guns, you're going to yell, "Shotgun!?" The was the straw that broke me. I hate this movie, and it's rare for me to actually hate a movie.
Decided I hated myself, and watched The Rats: A Witcher Tale, right after the show and, I will preface this with how much I don't care for prequels, especially if the story is already done and there's not a lot of lore to be had. This was one of those times.

Liam's wig would look just like this before, during, and after an action sequence while Henry's varied from moment to moment depenthe circumstance. Overall, not a lot of care was given to this season despite the added talent, and it feels like they're just doing a mad dash toward the finish. Overall, it's a big disappointment for me and any Witcher fans.
The hair was TOO perfect. It looked the same in every scene, every action set piece, every time he did anything, the hair stayed the same. Henry's wig would flow. It was part of the character. It told its own story. Liam's kept reminding me I'm watching a show, and that pretty much sums up season 4.

nothing infuriated me more than Geralt's wig. The suit on Liam looked like it didn't fit, but the wig was the absolute worst contender. It was distracting. The poor man is putting his heart into every scene, and all I see are Katara's hair loopies from Avatar: The Last Air Bender.

That said, this season introduces the novel's least likable characters, The Rats, and I kept checking out. I didn't care for them, I knew what one of them did, which I'm glad they didn't go to far, but still, and I just couldn't wait till they were out of the picture, but...

I love the Witcher books, I hope I can play the games soon, but this series started off strong and has slowly fizzled into a shell of itself despite the rising stakes. I'm very invested in Ciri's story, and I just want to see how the show ends for all of my favorites.

The other new comers, especially Laurence Fishborne, do well with what they've got. I swear thisbshow would be 10x better if it just had some more polishing. The padded episodes are extremely noticeable, the pacing is all over the place, and the effects range from good to "time crunch."

The rest of the cast is fine. I've heard the complaints about Aya Chorlota (I hope I spelled that right), but they all amount to, "She's not pretty enough," and I don't see it. She's emotional and carries a lot of the emotional weight of the show. With better writing, she'd be amazing.

So I bit the bullet and watched the Witcher's latest season. I didn't want to. Henry Cavill seemed irreplaceable. Turns out I was right. And it's no fault of Liam Hemsworth. He's a fine actor in his own way, but not for Geralt. It's like putting Charlie Cox as Wolverine. it just doesn't work.

Overall, an insane trip that would probably have stayed in the dark corners of the internet a decade ago, but with more openness in the book community, I'm amazed more people aren't talking about this one! The Lion is my favorite character, but everyone is so well written in their own subtle snarky ways that I loved their interactions!
Isekai Harem, but makenit funny. I Got Abducted By Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming made me laugh out loud in a weirdly raunchy spicey novel that balanced what could basically be adult content with comically absurd scenarios and I was hooked from beginning to end!

Overall, a barebones murder mystery that felt a little forced, but still had enough character to make me want to know how it ends.
Probably my least favorite of Natasha Preston's novels, You Will Be Mine, had me skimming ahead and reaching the end and feeling like I didn't miss out anything important. I still love her characters, and the mystery made me intrigued, but it is definitely pretty weak.

The Witches of El Paso by Luis Jaramillo was pretty cool. I have to admit I'm not one for time travel stories, so I had an inkling of how it would end by the halfway point but, I enjoyed the characters and recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystical mystery.

With an amazing cast of actors working hard to make this plot work, a lot of good, if unconnected, gags, and needle drops that shouldn't work, but do. Beetlejuice 2 is a mess of short stories loosly interconnected by characters that feel forgotten half the time by the plot. Keaton looks like he never stepped away from the role. He's hilarious in it. The familial trio played by Catherine, Wynona, and Jenna are the heart of the movie, and I seriously wanted more of them together.
I'm sad there was no cameo by Alec and Gina, but I'm glad their characters were at least mentioned.
Overall, it's a silly fun time if you love Burton. It's definitely not his worst.
Just finished watching Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with my wife, and we had fun with it! It's not a good movie, but it makes up for it with a whimsical "lol random-ness" that can only come from Tim Burton. It lacks any substance and is honestly carried by its amazing stellar cast.

Overall, it was a dumb experience. The candy wrapper at the beginning basically sets the tone for this one, as pretty people escape an island full of deadly carnivorous mutants. I would have rioted, though, if Mahershala Ali didn't make it.
I just realized I never posted about Jurassic World Rebirth. It sucked. But less than Dominion. I liked it better than Fallen Kingdom, but it lacked that suspense of the first film. Everything was too clean, and the redshirts might as well have been dressed in red.

Overall, a story that starts and ends with no main characters having an arc, what Fantastic Four had in visual treats, it lacked substance. The villain could have been a little better. The arcs and character development could have used a dinal polish, but most importantly, it felt like a mid-quel that only exists to set up their part in the next big crossover movie.
Finally watched Fantastic Four yesterday. I see why it was overshadowed by Superman. To start, the film was visual eye candy! I loved every frame of it. The graphics of the Surfer and the Thing are amazing to see! Unfortunately, it's all style and no substance.
