No, the British Gas guy came to do a check and said everything was fine, and they heat up really well. I think this is the seal has gone around the nut at the top and reading the instructions on how to fix it is beyond my skill, so it might be a handyman job. 🙃 It’s stopped for now at least.

The radiator in my bathroom is now leaking. 🙃

Lol okay, counted the cat food I already had and I may actually have enough until March, if Nova continues with his Hate All Wet Food Except Churu campaign.

It just makes that pay check go further over the five thousand exhausting weeks of January. 🙃

Yay Lily’s Kitchen did their usual 40% Black Friday sale (with the annoying caveat this year that you needed to spend over £200) so I’ve done my usual and stocked up on it until February. It’s really nice knowing Padmé loves all food and won’t go off it. (🤞🏻)

I’m also trying not to be annoyed that it feels like everything I’ve bought for the house in the last month is now on Black Friday. The silicone I bought for the kitchen is half the price I paid! Who puts silicone on Black Friday. 🫠

Nine degree and ice again in the orangery, despite leaving the door to the house open so the rest of the house got super cold overnight. 🫠

Everything stop being on fire for one fucking minute challenge.

I thought the £100 credit British Gas gave me was already used to drop my price per KW but no, it's added to my account now so I'm well in credit despite not paying extra over the summer to build it up. Maybe I need to worry a little bit less about the heating.

Ahhh that happened to me with watching Leverage and then Leverage Redemption was announced and it felt like a gift specifically for me. 😃 I liked Universe (lots of people don’t like it as much because it’s a bit grimmer than the others but I love the situation/setup) so hope you enjoy!

Me to housemate who I have paid MONTHLY for EIGHT YEARS for bills: It let me put your bank details in so you should get yours back directly.

Me: … Have you changed banks in the last two months?!
Him: No?

Me: Yes I had your bank details.

Not only did the landlady immediately return our full deposit without question, they even paid us a bit of interest (only from 2023 because that’s when it moved into the deposit protection scheme instead of being with Farrell Heyworth who DEFINITELY would’ve kept it.)

Like, a dozen or so people have all the money and they constantly complain about everyone else not spending more.

I’m too lazy; I just buy it cheaper somewhere else or wait for it to come back on sale. 😂

Nah, I googled and Amazon still had it at £135 (plus I had a £10 Amazon voucher) so I got it from them. Argos’ loss. 😄

And now the oil-filled radiator I was looking at yesterday is back to £190 instead of £135 ARGH. Should’ve bought it yesterday. 😭

Hmm, I could just buy a little IKEA folding table for the lounge. I would have space for a small one and I already have chairs. Hm.

I wouldn't mind so much about not being able to use it, except my dining table is in there and I love my dining table and now apparently can't use it for four + months of the year. 🙃 I might need to invest in a fancy coffee table and sit on a floor pillow to do craft instead.

It doesn't help that the orangery is IMPOSSIBLE to keep warm when it's cold outside (when I asked the seller if it got cold in winter, she said 'Not really...'. Reader, she was LYING).

I'm a bit sad that heating being so expensive now is making me dislike winter. I love winter! I love cosy clothes and not being too hot at night and snow! I'm always excited for snow! Except these days, every time I think of snow, I think of how expensive the heating is. 🙃

I’ve made myself a fancy hot chocolate with marshmallows and I’m sitting in my house thinking how nice it is to not have to listen to the housemate yelling at his online gaming upstairs. 🥰

We did, and it was weirdly such a good time for me to be sharing a house because we all kept each other company and I had wine & movie nights every Friday with one of my best friends & it meant I never felt isolated. There were also awful annoyances but, a lot of Big Feelings moments happened there.

I wonder if I'll like this house as much in eight years time.

And then when I was waiting for thr taxi back, I opened the fic I'm rereading and it was literally this scene in Coffee and Infinite Protection Detail where Bucky is sad a building he liked living in is being sold, even though he has a good new place to live.

Just handed back the keys to the rental house and even though I like the new house (mostly) and I really like not living with housemates, I'm still terribly sad. Eight years is a long time and it was a very good house and a surprisingly good landlady.
