Hundreds to take part in Scotland's first free public transport trial Councillors have approved £225,000 to offer concessionary travel to 1,000 residents as part of the upcoming year's budget.

I am immensely grateful to have free use of public transport due to my visual impairment but with the amount of money swilling around the country there is no reason for it to cost anything to anyone at the point of use. Social and env benefits would be worth the effort.

I’m one of the 1800 Aberdeenshire adults on the waiting list for an autism assessment. How many other universally accepted diagnoses simply aren’t checked? Why are we ok to be ignored and sidelined?

These cuts would be discriminatory pure and simple.

Aberdeenshire autism and ADHD assessment cuts increase suicide risks, warn campaigners Aberdeen mum Marion McLaughlin, who runs an autism consulting firm, warns scrapping adult testing will be devastating for those waiting to be diagnosed.

This news is on top of a reported £20m of cuts to elderly care and a review of community hospitals across Aberdeenshire.

Health and social care cuts in our region will only lead to more costs down the road. They may even cost lives. Holyrood needs change.

It has been nearly two decades since the SNP promised to replace Council Tax. The BHA delivered some reform but didn’t tackle the fundamental problem.

We need a fairer system. We need to abolish Council Tax.
