Obviously I agree, but because Nintendo operates in a bit of a different arena that is usually family first, lateral thinking with withered technology, etc. I can kind of see why some naive thinking leads to people feeling betrayed. With Sony and Microsoft many people just expect them to be trash

As far as the relationship with fans, I feel like they've always been this way. When they are struggling they work extra hard to appease fans and bring good value, and then when they're on top they can be a bit ruthless

I'm personally happy enough with my purchase atp given Donkey Kong alone (and my brother lending me his copy of Mario Kart), and I'm looking forward to trying out Drag x Drive and some other smaller games.

Additionally, this system launch was reportedly internally delayed presumably to ensure a good software pipeline was ready, and it can't be ignored some consumers rushed to purchase it at launch in fear of looming tariffs. Not to even mention the key card situation.

A big summer showcase is usually the norm, and the first showcase following the system launch is primarily old games while those that were promised are missing and without release dates.

My hot take is that a culture of hype is not to blame for the negative reaction to yesterday's Nintendo Direct.

Imagine you just bought a pricy, premium new system with the promise that several highly anticipated first and third party games would be releasing for it by the end of the year.
