As an aside to this, I've wanted to publicly protest the UK Gov's involvement in the genocide of Palestinians, but I'm too terrified, especially with the Gov's crackdown.

But this isn't to take away from the current fear being experienced by trans prisoners - they are the main victims here.

Idk what to put here, but as a transwoman who has no intention of going to prison, this still terrifies me. Knowing that, if I'm ever jailed I'll be at a higher risk of SA and death by suicide than a cis person, makes me feel unsafe as a citizen.

Wall-to-wall discourse around sexual violence is pretty unbearable, and I say that as someone who reports on discourse about sexual violence. For anyone who needs to hear this, it is okay to take a break. It is okay to stop scrolling or to not be able to come up with something to say right now.

The prospect of seeking medical help for gender dysphoria-related depression and anxiety is terrifying. What if the person doesn't understand gender dysphoria, or is an outright transphobe? What if you're admitted as an inpatient and you're forced to share facilities with the wrong gender?

Being trans while living in an environment where you can't transition feels like Covid. You know what you want to be doing with your life. You have dreams of it every night. But you can't realise those dreams. Sometimes you get breaks where you can be yourself, but you always know lockdown awaits.
