I've worked on gas-electric issues in New England and the Pacific Northwest, but not specifically the antitrust angle. Sounds interesting!

Here's my Initial Brief: edocs.puc.state.or.us/efdocs/HBC/u...
And the utility's: edocs.puc.state.or.us/efdocs/HBC/u...
Monday morning question for the regulatory attorneys out there: can a state regulator order a utility to procure generating resources? How about when there's a 2030 clean energy mandate at play? State statutes & caselaw will affect the analysis, but I'm curious what others think on the big picture
25.11.2024 15:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A point from today's CLE that I think many people don't realize. ODOE Director Benner: "Some people have questioned whether HB 2021, the 100% clean energy bill, is driving electricity rate increases. At this time, it is not." OR's consumer advocate has said the same: oregoncub.org/news/blog/my...

In a CLE on the OR Department of Energy's Biennial Energy Report, put on by the Oregon Bar's Sustainable Future Section. Love a good Sankey diagram:

22.11.2024 16:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good news here in Oregon -- we're back on track to bring down GHG emissions from sectors beyond electricity. With Washington voters electing to maintain the Climate Commitment Act, that means caps and prices on carbon along the whole West Coast. State action FTW!
