U.K. might lose a prime minister because a guy who worked for him knew another guy who hung out with Epstein. Meanwhile the U.S. opposition party is telling our President, who was Epstein's best friend, that his secret police should get better training so their public street murders look less messy.

I listened to a Bad Bunny track last night in preparation, it had him taking the Mick of Trump so I'm guessing we won't hear that

My unpopular opinion: releasing the emails & messages surrounding Mandelsonโs appointment is entirely reasonable.
Releasing every communication between Mandelson and any ministers or Spads over the course of his ambassadorship is disproportionate, unnecessary and sets a really bad precedent.

Left: Zia Yusuf, "Mandelson deserves to be in jail. The buck stops with the executive, Keir Starmer is a disgrace to his office and should resign"
Right: Nathan Gill is in jail for accepting Russian bribes. Using Zia Yusuf's logic, isn't Nigel Farage also a disgrace, and should also resign?

I donโt agree, because itโs about what risk youโre willing to wear. It was fairly obvious at the time that here was a guy with a) known skeletons b) partially known skeletons c) the likelihood of more skeletons. If you choose to not look and/or ignore the strong likelihood of more, itโs your call

Two. Am nervous about an assumption that maximal release of documents is always and definitely right. We need to protect the privacy of the vetting process. We have careful disclosure rules about criminal offences for good reason. In the heat of scandal and drama we need to keep our heads

Keir Starmer has shown a catastrophic error of judgement in appointing Mandelson.
He should put himself to a confidence vote of Labour MPs so the Government can get past this one way or the other and start focusing on the change our country needs.

Clearly the place has to be repaired otherwise it will burn/fall down.
But surely building somewhere new to today's requirements and standards will be cheaper and preferable.
Westminster can then be a huge tourist attraction

The Sรกnchez ๐ช๐ธ government has
- built Europe's boom economy
- hiked minimum wage from โฌ736 to โฌ1221
- cut insecure work from c.30% to c.13%
- regularised, not demonised, migrants
- stood up for human rights
- refused to humiliate itself before Trump
No wonder Musk hates it.

The fundemental issue with WASPI is how maximalist it has been. If you read the ombudsman report it makes the claim that a relatively small number of people should be eligible for a bit of compensation, but thereโs a difference between ยฃ500m and the ยฃ52bn that was mooted.

Do not allow Badenock to hide these policies behind a more slick, honed PR operation.
Ask her at every opportunity what plans she has for this style of paramilitary crackdown on citizens.
She might be convincing some that she's standing up to the nutters, but Katie Lam remains.
