Every time I watch ALIEN I am transfixed thinking to myself "there's no way they've left themselves enough room to get the third horizontal line in that E without it looking like a squashed-in mess!" but no, every single time there it is, and it's beautiful. Most tense part of the movie tbh.

Like, to me, Kirby and the Forgotten Landโ€™s structure feels very 3D DKC! But it wouldnโ€™t appeal to people who like DKC for other reasons

Donkey Kong Country is an interesting example where I love the series for its hidden collectibles and secrets, and TGCโ€™s vids are much more about the fast-paced kinetic momentum of them

So it makes sense that I gelled more with Forgotten Landโ€™s collection and exploration than 2D Kirby, which does have some of that, but is generally much faster paced.

Iโ€™ve never been able to get on with the Sonic games and I didnโ€™t know why until I watched TGCโ€™s Sonic series. Those levels are designed to be blasted through, youโ€™re not meant to see all of it in one go. But I was raised on slower, secret-based platformers that rewarded level exploration

MEANWHILE, MANY OF OUR COLLEAGUES HAVE LEFT THE COMPANY IN NO SMALL PART DUE TO BUYOUTS, OVERWORK, AND FEELING UNSUPPORTED, EACH TIME, THE COMPANY HAS REFUSED TO BACKFILL MANY ESSENTIAL ROLES, CLAIMING WE'RE ON A HIRING FREEZE, IT'S NOT IN THE BUDGET, OR THAT WE'RE GOING TO DO LESS WORK THIS TIME.

AS A RESULT, IGNCG MEMBERS HAVE BEEN FORCED TO TAKE ON MORE OF THEIR FORMER COLLEAGUES' WORKLOADS. MANY OF US NOW WORK LONGER HOURS THAN WE USED TO. A LOT OF US RARELY TAKE LUNCH BREAKS. SOME OF US DO NOT TAKE ADEQUATE TIME OFF DUE TO THERE BEING NO ONE TO PICK UP THE SLACK. OTHERS OF US ARE STUCK DOING WORK WE WERE NEVER HIRED TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE.
