There’s obvious conflation of the concepts of trust and popularity here... no doubt related but still distinctly different things.

You have to remember that no-one's as smart as Malcolm.
But that's not to say he's wrong.

That is certainly giant and stupid!
We're not much better here.

Perhaps, but I'm not aware of any evidence supporting that. There isn't a huge diff. between the kerb weight of a mid-size ICE (eg. CX-5 – 1500 Kg) and a mid-size EV (eg. Atto 3 – 1700 Kg). As a rider I'm much more worried about big 4WDs and utes – the kerb weight of a Ford Ranger is 2300 Kg.

Yeah prefer this one, without the posts... people who are not on bluesky may not agree though.

Hey, just finished reading most of this and it is a truly amazing piece of work. Beautifully, generously written. Infuriating, heart-wrenching and inspiring. I hope it gets the attention it deserves. Congrats to you and all involved.

Rally organiser's claim of 'bashing' by Middle Eastern men comes unstuck March for Australia claims one of its organisers was bashed by a group of Middle Eastern men the day before Australia Day, but police and an eyewitness account have cast doubt on its claim.

The nazis keep stirring up hate and division. At least this is a bit better than recent efforts from the abc:

"To date, 757,314 people – the majority children – have died from the funding cuts, according to ImpactCounter, which tracks the effect of USAID cuts via sophisticated modelling tools. That is 88 deaths every hour."

I strongly suspect Gina and the Atlas Network have played a bigger role. They couldn't get everything they wanted from the coalition, so they are building their own version of Trump's Republican Party on the back of Pauline.

How many times have you actually said it before?
And will it really be the death of our species?

"Long overdue."
Yes, really should have implemented it BEFORE we were sure it was near useless and far dangerous.

Keir Starmer Machine Ran a Secret Campaign to Demonetize Breitbart News and Other Opposition Outlets Starmer’s current chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, served as the head of a machine that targeted media outlets on the left and right, foreshadowing the UK’s crackdown on dissent.

Extraordinary. And extraordinarily worrying.

Honestly, Joyce was a cunt but as an economics analyst you do yourself a massive disservice blaming his 'legacy' for delays as though there could be no other explanation.

Australia is seen as a young country β€” but do you really know its ancient story? Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' story goes way, way back… take an awe-inspiring journey into Deep Time.

This is an absolutely amazing piece of work - the ABC spent five years (!) working on this interactive feature that brings together First Nations oral histories spanning 65,000 years
