Trump Is Helping Russia Get Away With Genocide State Department terminated a contract that assisted in documenting evidence of Russian's mass kidnapping of Ukrainian children

Russia has carried out the systematic kidnapping of tens of thousands of Ukrainian children, erasing their identities and forcing them into Russian families.

Now, Trump, Musk, and Rubio are helping Russia cover up this genocide as his regime cancels a crucial contract working on this horror

Line graph time series of 2025's daily Arctic sea ice extent compared to decadal averages from the 1980s to the 2010s. The decadal averages are shown with different colored lines with purple for the 1980s, blue for the 1990s, green for the 2000s, and white for the 2010s. Thin white lines are also shown for each year from 2000 to 2024. 2025 is shown with a thick gold line. There is a long-term decreasing trend in ice extent for every day of the year shown on this graph between January and April by looking at the decadal average line positions.

“Curtis Yarvin” is “a good friend of mine…” - DOGE advisor Marc Andreessen. (Under his pen name, Yarvin once proposed converting unproductive people into biodiesel. Yarvin said he was joking but that the joke helps “describe the problem” & that the “goal” is a “humane alternative to genocide.”) 1/

Arctic 50-year average temperature change for winter, updated to include 2024-25. Warming in excess of 11ºC (!) in the Barents Sea and Svalbard areas due to mid-winter sea ice loss. No warming since the mid-1970s in eastern Siberia and parts of Greenland. Data from ERA5. #Arctic #ClimateChange

Green line graph time series of average sea surface temperature anomalies for each February from 1900 through 2025. There is large interannual variability, but an overall long-term increasing trend. Anomalies are computed relative to a 1981-2010 baseline.

Last month observed the 2nd warmest (after 2024) global mean sea surface temperature on record for the month of February.

We're rapidly surpassing the climate of the Eemian warm period, >120,000 years ago.

Global Sea Surface Temperatures are likely already warmer.

Sea ice is rapidly disappearing.

Land ice will follow, increasing Sea levels by >10 meters. But that takes heat and time.

There is substantial interannual and daily variability. Seasonal cycles are visible. Note: the poles are affected by very different Earth system processes/seasonality. I am using 5-day running mean data.

While all of this is happening to our scientific agencies, the current extent of sea ice globally remains at record low levels...

We are reaching multiple climate tipping points.

This is what it looks like.

Note that we've already reached 560 ppm CO₂ equivalent (total greenhouse gas forcing of about +4 W/m² above 1750).
