After all, these companies are profiting off of our data leaving us--and especially those who are in the public eye, have been victims, or have been targeted--with little control or ability to do anything about it.

We urge the FTC to aggressively apply this law to people-search websites that aggregate public information without any accuracy verification, quality control measures or clear options for people to have their information immediately removed. These companies sell our personal information to anyone willing to pay, including those who will use the information to stalk, harass or dox people. It is time to let us gain control over our personal data.

For example, FCRA requires people who request background reports on others to have a valid purpose and for the subject to be notified, but these people search sites have evaded FCRA regulation by claiming to be *tech* companies rather than background data providers.

Despite collecting, publishing, and monetizing vast amounts of data on U.S. residents, these companies operate as if they are not subject to regulation.

Most people would be shocked by how much personal data is available on these "people search" sites. For a small fee, they readily provide info such as home addresses, phone numbers, social media profiles, property records, voting records, family info, and (often inaccurate) criminal history records.

These people base their entire identities and ideologies around a book they clearly never read and obviously don't understand. They just cherrypick confirmatory quotes and interpret it through a 21st century lens.

The second degree murder charges will likely be upgraded to first degree after convening a grand jury. Grand juries are required in MN to file indictments that could be sentenced to life imprisonment (which includes first degree murder).
