I come to you a week and a half later, home from a hospital admission for a #crohns flare which caused a full bowel obstruction and needing surgery to remove part of my bowel and widen scar tissue in other areas. I’m now 1 week post op 🩵 and home🩵

Well it’s been a busy few days guys it’s been hard to keep up!! I had surgery about an hour after my last post (what is the bluesky short hand for post by the way??)

No stoma needed, recovery is tough. I did stairs for the first time today 🥰❤️ #crohn’s #IBD #surgery

I have just found out I am going for surgery either in the next two hours or tomorrow morning. They are going to resect more of my bowel, clear adhesions and scar tissue and remove strictures. I won’t find out if I need a stoma until I wake up from surgery ❤️ been down this road before but it- 1/2

Since I took this I’ve had the NG taken out because after nearly two days with it in and needing it aspirating regularly too I just couldn’t tolerate it any more but I did my best💜 since then things have only become more complicated with my full bowel obstruction 😢 #IBD

Pain is horrendous and i’m on the most intense pain management regime I have ever been on outside of a surgery. I have been nil by mouth since sunday and have received all my fluids through IV. Despite this i’m still so dehydrated. Urine is showing ketones, proteins and leukocytes in my pee. 3/3

I’m no longer in #crohns disease remission. I am currently in a flare up which is partially a cause for the blockage. I’ve been started on IV steroids and now I need to wait until after surgery to commence azathioprine and biologic infusions. Despite steroids I am currently no better 2/3

So much to update you all on but so little energy and characters😂

My obstruction is still in place. Surgery identified as needed but disciplines disagree about when this should be. At times it’s felt like my voice hasn’t been heard but I’ve continued to advocate for myself regardless 1/3

Been able to have three solid hours of sleep last night🩵 which has made a lot of difference this morning 🥹 the steroids are also having a positive effect, in that I have more energy 🥰 however, no sign of things moving blockage wise and pain still exactly the same. Just want answers now🥹 #IBD

I am also so off my face on IV morphine being given the top dose and being nil by mouth for 2 who days. Means that it has taken me 10 minutes to write this and I keep dropping my phone on my face 🫠🥹

Health Update:

They believe tomorrow is surgery day to remove and resect part of my bowel that is damaged beyond repair

50/50 chance of waking up with a stoma. A kick in the teeth after getting it reversed 2 years ago

Also found out i’m no longer in remission for Crohn’s as i’m in a flare😪#IBD

I love the idea of a IBD community!!! Honestly the IBD community on instagram has helped me through the most tough times, it would be lovely to recreate that feeling here🥹🙏🏻❤️

Full obstruction is an incredibly horrible experience due to what is brought up and expelled by the body, thats all i’ll say on that!

Pain and swelling is consistent and are the most challenging symptoms I’m currently dealing with right now 2/3

Health update:

I have been admitted to hospital after struggling with extreme pain, nausea and a whole host of other symptoms.

Turns out I have a full bowel obstruction.

NG tube is in situ, unfortunately I have been sick alongside that. And for those who don’t know, vomiting with a- 1/3

After a rough few days with #IBD it’s no shock to me that my #crohns has landed me in A&E ❤️ Complications with my stoma reversal leave me prone to bowel obstructions. I’ve had 3 this year. Not feeling mentally ready for an admission so please hold me in your thoughts if you have room to spare❤️

It might sound silly, but it’s a huge comfort I would struggle without🥹 stoma surgery? YouTubers. Crohn’s flare? YouTubers. Flashbacks? YouTubers. You get the gist🙏🏻 Tonight as I struggle with pain and a partial blockage I can lean on the people I enjoy the most to keep me distracted ❤️ 2/2

Watching gaming YouTubers on nights like this is honestly my safe haven 🤍 It’s always my escapism when I can’t move or do anything. Every hospital admission I sink hours into watching lighthearted gameplay and comedy commentary because I’m too poorly to actually play anything 1/2

One of those nights where my stomach is massively distended, lots of pain and feel so sick. Classic partial blockage vibes😪 managing to avoid hospital so far🙏🏻 maxed out on strong pain meds to help me get through, trying to watch youtube videos to pass the time😢 first one since July #IBD

Today was 100% a pyjama and rest day. Was in a fair amount of pain and discomfort, lots of fatigue and unfortunately sleep was disrupted last night by 4 men in balaclavas trying our door at 2:30am which has left me shaken and unsettled, not surprisingly

I think the bloating element of Crohn’s Disease can sometimes send even the most confident people into a body image spiral. Forever working on my self acceptance but it is difficult when your body visually changes sooo drastically in a day! #crohnsdisease #ibd

I want to create a world for myself where I make decisions about how I spend my spoons and prioritise rest that aren’t based on the societal pressure to have my shit together at all times and always be achieving something. A journey easier said than done🩵 3/3
