Trump and the GOP are creating their own manufactured crises, lighting the Reichstag fires, blaming "them" for the violence (their critics), citing "left-wing" terrorism, all as a setup for martial law and the Insurrection Act.

It's happening in plain sight.

So I need journalists to start asking for names when someone pulls this "some people are claiming"/"some experts disagree" nonsense. I get that would be asking access journalists to do work, but needs must here guys.

I watched video from a European news outlet that said social media usage peaked in 2022 and has been trending down since.

Gave me a little optimism.

Then the last 30 seconds said "except in North America, where social media is at all-time highs".

Bleh. We're cooked.

the fascism is for sure happening now. all the far flung harms you anxiously laughed off before are on the table. take time to think earnestly and calmly what you need to do to stay safe and survive. the time for brushing it off as alarmism or prematurity is over.

Fascism is what happens when you're making other plans.

I remember when I used to go DAYS—WEEKS EVEN—without thinking about the President of the United States because I wasn’t worried about him starting a civil or world war, making a gestapo police force, or ripping our constitution to shreds.

There’s just not enough attention being paid to how unqualified, psychologically unfit, and dangerous so many of these new ICE hires potentially are.

If we had a Congress, there’d be investigations & oversight into this.

I think two things can be true at the same time.

I was a skeptic about the import of the Epstein files.

But 3 invasions of cities, one military buildup outside Venezuela, a government shutdown, and so many other things meant to distract have me convinced whatever’s in there is the biggest presidential scandal in U.S. history.
