I hope he remembers that when Russia comes after his country
10.08.2025 13:27 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I don't understand why you never hear about accountability for these actions. Is there none?
10.08.2025 02:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As a retired police officer, the FBI used to be considered one of the top policing agencies in the world. No longer.
08.08.2025 14:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just like the Romans, Ottomans, and British, the US Empire is almost over. The question now is which country will take the mantle as the next Empire. Right now it looks like China.
06.08.2025 18:44 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Does it matter? No. In the era Pres Trump does what he wants and Congress and the Courts will back him.
31.07.2025 14:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In this era it doesn't matter. Pres Trump does what he wants and Congree back him up and so does the Supreme Court for the most part. So he can do what he likes.
31.07.2025 14:38 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0In anycase, it was a strategic decision by Crown. They now have the opportunity to appeal the decision and we will see what the outcome is if they do.
29.07.2025 15:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres (OCRCC) stated βWithout expert witnesses testifying about how complainants respond to trauma, defence counsel were able to discreditβ―E.M. by painting her as a liar... based on behaviours we know are actually very common responses to trauma."
29.07.2025 15:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This isn't correct. In R. v. Hoggard August 2024 Ontario Court of Appeal, expert evidence on trauma is seen as unnecessary except in rare, compelling circumstances. It did not prohibit the use of experts. It is still remains that a judge can only consider evidence presented during the trial
29.07.2025 15:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The problem is that the Crown did not have a trauma expert testify during the trial. In our court system the judge can only consider evidence provided in the trial.
29.07.2025 14:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is a constant source of frustration for us Elbows Up Crowd. Every shopping trip i see these at my Real Canadian Superstore. They even had Coca-Cola as Product of Canada. I can't trust the signage. I gave up complaining.

That is the deal right now. Since it is an EO it can change at any moment and knowing how Pres Trump has changed his mind many times it likely will. There is also a debate on whether tariffs not approved by Congress are valid.
24.07.2025 00:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Toyota may think they are done, but a Trump agreement isn't worth the paper it is written on.
23.07.2025 14:41 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Under Paul Martin it was called Constructive Engagement.
13.07.2025 13:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This just after Canada got rid of the Digital tax on the US. It needs to be Elbows Up. Trumps word is worth nothing. The US can go it alone and the rest of the world will cooperate.
11.07.2025 01:23 β π 25 π 5 π¬ 5 π 0This would not be an issue if ICE was performing their job in a humane and wise manner, respecting people.
23.06.2025 16:14 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I would rather they keep my money and spend it wisely to improve my life.
19.06.2025 17:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of the tenants of democratic policing is that the police are the people and the people are the police. The police cannot operate without the consent of the people. When this is violated it is no longer democratic policing it is regime policing. There at the whim of the leader to protect them
08.06.2025 14:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We need more of this in the world.
05.06.2025 14:58 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I would be interested to know which system or proportional representation you are advocating. I have lived in 3 countries that have it but different systems.
27.05.2025 00:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I gather you would like first past the post on a referendum for proportional representation. Perhaps it should be whatever each electoral district votes for to be more proportional. For me it doesn't really matter. Just don't be one sided. Show the pros and cons of all systems.
26.05.2025 23:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 057 % is hardly overwhelming. The result would be a large segment of the society having sites complaining about it. But my point is not against proportional representation. My point is making it or any other system sound like a panacea. It isn't. All systems have pros and cons to it. Show then
26.05.2025 23:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You make it sound like proportional representation will solve all our electoral problems. It hasn't helped Isreal. The reality is that there are pros and cons to all systems. Years ago BC had a citizens assembly look at the systems. BC decided to keep the status quo.
26.05.2025 01:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am getting tired of those signs. I don't care what party or who. Let's do better than resorting to vulgarity
19.05.2025 03:16 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What i don't like is that it always the woman's responsibility to curb men's lack of restraint.
16.05.2025 00:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I want a firm hand that is not afraid of retaliation. We must always have a firm hand as an agreement with the US is meaningless and can and will be broken at will by them
16.05.2025 00:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I doubt very much that what you suggest will stop all sexual assault and therefore court reform is not needed. But for sure men need to learn restraint and respect period.
15.05.2025 11:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The original article was about the courts. Yes what you say is obvious. But the court system needs to be changed. It is easy to complain about like this post. And I agree with the criticism. But the next step is how can the courts be reformed.
