This isn't correct. In R. v. Hoggard August 2024 Ontario Court of Appeal, expert evidence on trauma is seen as unnecessary except in rare, compelling circumstances. It did not prohibit the use of experts. It is still remains that a judge can only consider evidence presented during the trial

The problem is that the Crown did not have a trauma expert testify during the trial. In our court system the judge can only consider evidence provided in the trial.

I would be interested to know which system or proportional representation you are advocating. I have lived in 3 countries that have it but different systems.

I gather you would like first past the post on a referendum for proportional representation. Perhaps it should be whatever each electoral district votes for to be more proportional. For me it doesn't really matter. Just don't be one sided. Show the pros and cons of all systems.

You make it sound like proportional representation will solve all our electoral problems. It hasn't helped Isreal. The reality is that there are pros and cons to all systems. Years ago BC had a citizens assembly look at the systems. BC decided to keep the status quo.

I doubt very much that what you suggest will stop all sexual assault and therefore court reform is not needed. But for sure men need to learn restraint and respect period.

The original article was about the courts. Yes what you say is obvious. But the court system needs to be changed. It is easy to complain about like this post. And I agree with the criticism. But the next step is how can the courts be reformed.
