I am curious about your reasoning though. I could see such a thing eliciting an eye roll and McLuhan could definitely get a bit silly but “the quote” always seemed like a plain fact to me even if it is given exaggerated importance.

Usually considered to be the last great Stones album. Certainly great moments after but nothing as consistent. Top 5 probably.

Actually a lot of the new receivers come with phono preamps but they are really lacking. We’ve been using an old Marantz from the 70’s for this reason.

Correct. Some turntables have built in preamps which are not usually great but might be passable. You can also buy preamps that aren’t wildly expensive that sound good.

I don’t know. If he’s going to have a role in the administration it might be the main reason. In addition to being loathsome he’s an actual menace wielding way too much power and influence as it is.

The thing for me isn’t the “joke.” I don’t think I’d even raise an eyebrow if it were a comedy club but to do it at a political rally in support of DJT is another thing altogether especially considering the president’s record concerning Puerto Rico.

I fervently disagree about Steely Dan but yeah the Nightfly is way ahead of his other solo albums.
