Piano Concerto No. 1
(Tchaikovsky)
Talk
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tchaikovsky's Piano concerto No. 1 is a piece of music.
Tchaikovsky wrote it in 1874 when he was 34 years old. The
first musician to play it, Nikolay Rubinstein, did not like it. The
second, Hans von Bülow, did like it.
Somehow found myself on the Simple English Wikipedia entry for Tchaikovsky's first piano concerto, and more program notes should be like this tbh

pot pie has pie crust though, and not all casseroles have crusts .
But yeah, it’s a pot pie, but bigger, and sometimes isn’t a pie

It’s an attempt to get AI artists to earnestly try to answer these questions, and get on record as many people saying what I think they will say, so I can have as much evidence as I can to make the case I’m going to make for a video on AI art and the alienation of labor.

The real people who are left out in discussions about AI art - those too lazy to prompt. Won’t somebody think of them?

What’s stopping you from drawing those enormous hogs? Why is AI necessary for dongs?

Earnest questions for visual AI artists!
1. What about AI lets you do different things from other digital art?
2. Do you feel like you have a unique “voice” with your AI art?
3. What AI visual artists inspire you? What about their work makes you inspired?

Haha, not so literally, but the idea of music connecting to you to history and community resonated with me.
We end every set with a jazz fusion cover for that reason

That guy sucks, but the sad thing is that 10 years ago, his band was putting out great blog posts on indie touring and booking as a jazz band in markets that don’t do jazz (deep south, etc)
Inspiring stuff, abandoned the second he discovered ragebait dopamine addiction

On Instagram, there is a NYC jazz bassist who is very aggressively promoting his “BassGPT” LLM app.
I admit, I didn’t see the jazz pdf-seller to AI grifter pipeline coming, but in retrospect, it was inevitable.

I just can’t imagine people in early hip hop or jazz or EDM or whatever caring AT ALL. The main goal of nascent musical movements was to make the coolest shit, and nothing but the coolest shit.
That certainly is not the goal or the result of GenAI.

I don’t really care what they’re called. I’m just fascinated that the result of a year of this tech being out there is a community deeply anxious about the value of their work.

The sheer number of “I’m a real musician, I swear!” posts on the r/Suno subreddit is pretty sad, honestly.
Other music-related subreddits are just people sharing tips on how to make dope beats, but the main effect of making AI music seems to be deep existential anxiety of the value of your work.

The band is counting in/playing to click. The beat is being produced in a DAW. “One” is practice, not just analysis.
This kind of article is like 20 steps removed from anybody actually making music.
