My local city election results are in. 5 of the 7 city council positions were up for the vote. 4 of the 5 encumbants lost. Those 4 were all Republicans. The 5th was a Democrat.

I am shocked my Red city flipped Blue. I did not see that coming.

I deposited my ballot into the drop box at my local city hall.

The local election is November 4th (tomorrow) but there was a line of people at 3 pm today at City Hall dropping off their ballots. No Federal candidates at all and there was a line. Amazing. 🇺🇲

100% They are fine with collateral damage, even if it takes out their own voters.

This is going to be like abortion. Are boob jobs "gender affirming"? Removals to cure or prevent cancer? Penile reconstruction? Almost all of the surgeries aren't just for the Trans community.

I always vote for somebody, even if it is The Owl Party candidate. I'm thinking of the low engagement voters where any effort is too much.

My MAGA relative just asked how people can hate 47 after a private donor gave money to pay soldiers's salaries during the "shutdown caused by Democrats." I gave myself a cramp trying to follow that pretzel logic.

I'm not even a Democrat and I found that a dizzying string of connections.

Also, you can leave a cult but it stays in your head. Especially true if you were exposed young. Years later, some cult idea will pop in my head surprising me. This way of thinking will be with us for at least 50 years.

MAGA are not conservative. No true conservative would be ok with any of this.
