What’s so weird about men in power is how when they face scandal and should step down the world acts like no one else can do their jobs. Bottstein, Wasserman, these aren’t irreplaceable men! Stop with this delusion.

Not sure how the NYT spun this, but it seems good to me that some liberal/progressives are tracking how the rightwing mediasphere functions. Meanwhile, I appreciate that In Bed with the Right mostly does this work for those of us who don't quite have the stomach.

I grew up listening to my dad stream Rush Limbaugh and while you couldn't pay me to join this listening club, I do feel obligated to to say a very close friend is part of this group and they are definitely not a closeted conservative (they work in national progressive politics).

I cancelled my NYT subscription a couple years ago and subscribed to the Boston Globe. I have not been disappointed by their coverage and I have been just delighted by how unapologetically Boston it is. Last spring, the food critic reviewed all the foods on the Dunkin menu 👌

My senator, sitting smugly at the kitchen table as it is engulfed in flames: “Tabitha, under Trump, eggs are $6/dozen— but don’t worry Democrats are fighting back.”

Me on the phone with our senator who keeps pushing affordability issues: hi I’m a working class voter and I would happily pay more in taxes to have a Senator with a moral back bone and a federal government that’s not trying to kill us.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Not a day goes by that I don’t read the news and see the president insulting wide swaths of the electorate and think about how Ezra Klein unironically argued (to a black man, no less!) that republicans are in power because of that one time Hillary called republican voters “deplorables” in 2016.

Notice how the murder of a woman by an immigrant (with like, one example) is a horrific violation that requires the entirety of ICE to be mobilized to fight this, and then when ICE murders a woman it’s like “that lesbian bitch had it coming for her”?

If you want to end this regime, you need to upend the structure of caring, and the way you do that is by caring about the people who are being abused.

Female vulnerability only ever exists in this power structure to uphold the status quo, never challenge it.

I will start to take our leader’s resolve seriously when they start shouldering the burden of courage they are demanding of us.

A single PIECE of broccoli from the same folks who will confidently state that it’s poor people’s own fault that they’re sick, because didn’t they know to eat more vegetables?

I was raised by a second-amendment, “don’t tread on me” guy, and while not an intellectual surprise, the last twelve months have been a real reckoning in “oh, you meant don’t tread on your FEELINGS.”

What if we… I dunno, abolished the secret police first?
