In my hometown, there was a "Champs Rollerdrome" which became "ham Rollerdrome".

What I don't understand is: why didn't they use a VPN to appear American? It's cheap and easy. I guess it costs a little bit of config time, but if you're a governmental grey ops kinda deal, that's easy to roll out. Were they thinking that this would _never_ be a feature?

What if color harmonies were a continuum? Not fixed rules, and you could glide through them just by interpolating?

Chart: EVs are ascendant β€” and gas cars are past their prime Sales of gas-only vehicles are down by 31% from their peak, while electric vehicle sales are growing rapidly worldwide, largely due to China.

"At their all-time high, in 2017, global sales of pure internal combustion vehicles hit 79.9 million units, per data from the International Energy Agency. Last year, 54.8 million internal combustion cars were sold, a 31% reduction." www.canarymedia.com/articles/ele... via @danmccarthy.bsky.social

Then they stopped. I asked why. The woman, who identified herself as the manager, said that they'd laid off all their employees that didn't have their own car, so they had no need of the ebike anymore. I'm not sure that's even legal, but, uh, that's when my affection for that branch ended.

I kinda liked the S. Grand domino's for a while. I lived on their street - Shenadoah - and in 2020 they had an ebike that their delivery drivers were riding gangbusters up into TGE.

Adulthood is wish fulfillment of promises we make ourselves in our youth. Or anyway, that's what someone I heard once said. It's interesting to think about.

Probably the single best example of a game that gets over the top rave reviews but is impossible to buy at retail. It siezes the Old King's Crown from Earthborne Rangers in that category.

Boomers' levels of civic engagement were COASTING. They inherited a healthy democratic system from their parents.

When we think about what level of effort we need to get out of our multiple crises, we need to look not to our parents the Boomers, but to our Grandparents.

Movement Voter Project MVP funds local organizing and movement-building groups working to shift culture, win power, and shape policy.

I think that this org is trying to build an engine to do just that: movement.vote

They're still small, so they're not everywhere yet - they're concentrating on places with critical elections: VA & PA last night, House next year, swing states in '28.

All it takes is paying a few people for more labor. You've already hired them. They've already demonstrated the skills by deploying to AWS. This is 100% a business decision to cut costs and take on risk.
