CharacterCreationChallenger day 31 Zim is an oddity in the Underdark. He lacked the inherent cruelty of other Kobolds and even as a child seemed to have a special bond with animals, especially spiders and scorpions. An outcast among his own tribe, Zim struck out on his own, and by chance encountered Doggo. Via his animal telepathy he befriended Doggo, and they have patrolled the darkness, ever since, even occasionally sneaking to the surface at night, to aid travelers, spoil raids from other Kobolds, Drow, Duergar, etc. During the day, if he must travel the surface, he wears a deep hood, and made a pair of Inuit style snow goggles out of the husks of a walnut. Mostly he is content to keep to himself, hunt, fish, and cause trouble for evil creatures. Not sure I got all the rules rights, the specifics for Demi Rangers are less than ironclad in wording, and of course, technically was not connected to the Complete Book of Humanoids. C'est la vie. I wanted to end the CCC with a Kobold that rides a big spider.
