She also probably didn't kill anyone's dog today, but I won't give her a prize for that....

But Edmonton is still more urban, more connected, and better designed than most US cities of a similar size. Which is a remarkable achievement when you look at how rapidly this city has grown and adapted to meet demand.

I have lived in Alberta my whole life and except for online nonsense and universities, I don't hear anyone talk about the NEP, or Pierre Trudeau.

I really do think people cling so tightly to their stereotypes they get blinded by them.

Now excuse me as I giddy up and ride my horse to work, yeehaw!

Jason Kenney talking about taking away human rights
YouTube video by squee222 Jason Kenney talking about taking away human rights

Don't expect conservatives to do the right thing. The whole conservative movement needs to be ruined. It's toxic. Nothing good comes from it. This is the guy we are supposed to praise for loving Canada?... He'd take us down the same road as trump is taking the US.

@lukaszukab.bsky.social has it all wrong.

By allowing the separatist petition, I get to keep Albertans distracted as my UCP goes after pensions and judges.

Then I get to blame Ottawa when their unconstitutional question fails court challenges.

The prairie "cowboy" provinces are the birthplace of the progressive movement in Canada. We are as much the "hotbed of conservatism" as we are the "hotbed of socialism". Thank us for the NDP, healthcare, and women's right to vote. Deal with it!

You ever heard of sarcasm???
Read it again... remember this is sarcastic.... I am mocking your portrayal of Albertans as a bunch of cowboys and oilmen (vast majority of us do not work in either of those industries).

Stereotypes are easy crutches for those avoiding thought

P.S. the assummption that urban sprawl necessarily means more driving is also potentially false. People who both live and work at the edge of town may drive less than someone that lives in the core and works in the burbs or industrial parks. Most of Edmonton's employment is not in the downtown core.

11.02.2026 01:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yes we are a stereotype. Nuance is complicated. Its easier to lean on stereotypes like a crutch - even when those stereotypes benefit the very nazis you claim to oppose. I will clap even slower for your original hot take.

Calling my home province "Texas north" is surely stwereotyping all albertans, especially in this context. Dont do that.

Weighing whether their decisions best benifit the environment over their neighbours decisions is irrelevant. The neighbour has no right to render the panels useless without compensating the owner of the solar installation.

11.02.2026 00:02 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Putting solar on a roof is not a societal level decision. It is a personal one about ones personal finances and how they want to best leverage their property assets, manage the next 50 years of finances, and how to enjoy their property. They have some rights wrt their own property usage.

11.02.2026 00:02 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

People have sued and won court cases over much less than this... preserving solar power generation should be part of the zoning bylaw. Just so we dont have the right hand not knowing what the left is doing - and so we dont have more disputes from infill clogging up the provincial courts.

10.02.2026 23:59 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The investment is made with the implicit assumption they will have access to 30 years of sunlight. Those that have made that investment - I would argue - have a right to not have a neighbour shade their panels. Those that have not yet invested, will not invest without that implicit garauntee.

10.02.2026 23:56 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

1; I'd love to see a source for that assertion.
2: i think thats a false dichotomy. We can engineer infill that does not shade adjacent property roofs.
3: regardless of environmental impaxt, people and governments have made 30 year investments in their homes, and they should see that roi.

10.02.2026 23:56 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Not enough discussion about solar in the zoning plan. With solar power being the future we need to consider whether people have a right to light access on their rooftops, and whether they only have that right after installing panels. We can't be encouraging solar and then shading installations.

Does Jesus believe in Santa Clause?

I don't think he does. The dude poached his birthday celebration, and Santa isn't even a real person.

Talking about truth - I sure hope you realize Jesus was a dark skinned Palestinian Jew.... Not a blond European as generally portrayed.

oh so you remember when it wasn't like this - when the government didn't "punch down"??? like when we had the indian passport system that prevented native people from leaving reserves or finding gainful employment (essentially segregation), or when we had forced sterilization? The "good old days"?

Canada already paid for the entire bridge and gave half of it to Michigan.

If your idiot government blocks the bridge we will retaliate and make the ambassador bridge equally useless and destroy your auto industry.

You guys want to play "Mutually Assured Destruction"... I'm ready for it. Are you?

He should, then in retaliation we can block his billionaire friend's bridge. It would cause so much economic destruction that there would be a collective backlash against the US pedophile party and he might finally see the inside of a jail cell.
