Remember, faculty: refusing to let your students use LLMs to complete assignments is actually PREPARING them for an A.I. World, because the market will need people who actually know what they're talking about to clean up the mess created by graduates who have no actual knowledge to speak of.

The focus on "AI Literacy" is particularly baffling, because guess what: it's just literacy! You can't use LLMs reliably unless you know what you're talking about. And the best way to actually learn something is to—you guess it—do your own work instead of having Chat-GPT do it for you.

This is every presentation on A.I. in academia: a laundry list of reasons it's unreliable with absolutely no willingness to come to the logic conclusion of "it should not be used" because our institutions are jumping on the bandwagon.

I've recently committed to having students record the recitation of an AI Pledge that clarifies my resistance to the technology not as a matter of right/wrong, but rather my earnest desire to have their own thoughts and contributions be a part of the class.

When I have students do less formal academic writing, I keep emphasizing that it doesn't matter HOW you cite something: it just always needs to be clear what you're drawing on, for the sake of your own legitimacy and so that someone can follow your rabbit hole.

As someone fully on the record as saying this show’s episodes were too short, I do not blame bingers for feeling much more positively toward it. A rare case where the weekly releases felt like a mistake.

I'm not shocked this spent so long in development hell, but I am sort of shocked the logline suggests they failed to come to the correct conclusion: just adapt the Ezio trilogy and forget the rest exists.
