It occurred to me this morning, while reading another article about what's going on in the US, why in SF media it's almost always where the aliens start their attack...

And it's not because it's the bastion of peace, freedom, democracy, and all that's good in the world!

The problem with polling on low public-engagement issues is that that polling is basically marking the homework of how effectively the media have told the public what to believe on a topic and how well people requesting the polling have framed the questions to advantage their own cause

How very interesting!

I struggle to narrow down what I'm interested in. Key things include Scottish Suffragettes and the histories of women's activism in Scotland; LGBTQIA+ histories, presents and futures; data science, both uses and misuses; books and reading across most genres, but especially SFF; and, lots more!
