One thing I would add to this Lewis-Skelly debate is that from my recollection this has been a challenge that Oliver has carded before. Freuler’s red card in the EURO 2020 quarter final against Spain being the key example that comes to mind. It is at least consistent with his past decisions.

Depends a lot on the correlation of these footballers (through performance or image rights) to future revenues. In an objective sense, if the cost vs benefits no longer makes sense then they may look elsewhere. You will have a hard time finding players who offer the same level of payoff as those 3.

Talent evaluation has been strong so far, but seemingly weak in executing the opportunities we have been told to wait for. Can only do so much with the short first window, but the pressure is on now to deliver results going into a 6-8 month stretch of question marks.

Branthwaite is not nearly good enough on the ball for Slot’s system IMO. If City go down or are forced to sell assets due to their legal situation and Gvardiol comes available then he would probably be first option, otherwise I agree that Ait Nouri seems like the best of both worlds on paper.

The big factor for Salah will probably be the structure of the contract. If it works out to be that the club/FSG/whoever don’t pay as much base but Salah gets more through things such as Image Rights then all parties may still be satisfied. Those sorts of details are harder to speculate about though

Ideally news on a second club. A few pieces of news need to break first (Vasco getting out of the non compete that prevents FSG from buying and a hearing regarding the liquidation of FCGB due end of Jan) but beyond that hopefully we at least get some sort of sign of progress.
