I cannot think of a power couple similar to Mitch Starc and Alyssa Healy in any other sport.

Healy in particular is in beast mode this WC and I absolutely love it.

The larger picture here is that the Trump admin has dismantled so much of the give illegally, and the hope was the the Dems could use a potential shutdown as a way to show force and to somehow get the Trump admin to walk back some of the dismantling

I don’t think the current fight gets us there

This will be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think this fight over the ACA subsidies is what the Dems should have chosen for the shutdown messaging.

The subsidies don’t expire for three months. There would have been time for lawmakers to broker a broader deal that includes ACA subsidies

The reality is that the Indian-American bloc absolutely contributed to Trump becoming President (remember 'ab ki Baar Trump Sarkar'?). But, a lot of them are now attempting to rewrite that narrative.

I personally know several Indian-American Trump voters now either regret their decision or claim they didn’t vote for Trump. The reality is though that fewer Indian-Americans identified as Democrats in 2024 (down to 47% from 56% in 2020), while Trump's support has grown from 22% to 31%.

I see chatter from India asking why the Indian-American bloc isn't speaking out more vehemently against the recent (seemingly insane) H1B announcements from the Trump administration.

I think the answer is likely rooted in some form of shame.
