So much of our current wave of Boomer reaction is just a demand that state coercion be employed to satisfy their aesthetic dislike of seeing certain people in public - non-white people, kids, visibly queer people, homeless or poor-looking people, people wearing clothes they don't like, etc

the magic of the Muppets is that there are two fourth walls. they constantly break the one that reminds the audience they are performers. they NEVER break the one that reminds the audience they are puppets. this dynamic is the key to their entire comedy style
